Wow..wow...and Wow... 1st of all let's hit rewind. Same time last year 2018 my church ministry MWAC, of Dallas ,Tx. Men with a Cause happened upon this place during our annual mens retreat. Press forward to 2019. We decided to do a return visit for the mere fact the food ,service and ambiance of a mom and pops establishment was truly Exceptional back then so we say ok let's return as we did in the past went in 24 hrs prior to and let them know a large group of men and young men the youngest 5yr old would be returning can you accommodate us again this year? Sure come on in we have new owners and we would love to have you back we have the same staff just new owners about a year now. 57 patron's at once a nice intake for business especially breakfast to include your normal crowd. They open at 8am I believe and we were told to show up at 7:30am 30mins early so we could be seated and served by the time the normal flow of business would show. Once we got there my particular table order was taken first and the entire group after that. No problem. At 8:15 other patrons of a different ethnic make up showed and was seated in the back. Their orders were taken after ours. Once the food started coming out about a 3rd of our group on the other side of the dining area was served food. No problem we all here together if my brother get his food b4 me no problem really we are all here together. 8:45 am no food for the tables that orders were taken at 7:45am. So I am sitting at the table and other tables was like where our food? Other patrons walk in of a different ethnic group and they walk in looking shock where all these Afro American men come from? We all know the look and vice versa. So I say to my other brothers that don't have food and I quote " If some food go to the back I am going to have a serious problem" And I stand up to see who the food was being delivered to and low and behold it was the other patrons who came in 15mins. after us. None of the staff acknowledges that our food is still coming or that it might late. So a couple of other tables saw this and a quarter of us got up paid for our drinks and left in discuss. Call it blind prejudice or being over whelmed. I call a spade a spade. Anyway we told our Pastor we were a church group out of Dallas and had a positive men's retreat in the Creative Escapes cabins had a gr8 time and only to be treated as such at this restaurant. Food last year and service was awesome this year not so good. Later when I arrived back to Dallas I asked some of the guys that did eat did the owner acknowledge the lack of service and the revenue that was lost. Because of the lack in judgment or being unprepared with a 24hr notice. What I truly believed what happened is 2 things. The tickets got mixed up. Or the owner said let's do this stagger the ticket take care of this side then the back and then the other side which in all fairness was WRONG. In a restaurant it's first in first out and not first in last out or forget about it. And to add insult to injury once they realized what had happened with the influx of us not wanting to wait to be served and mixing up of the orders on the other side then they say wait your food is coming. Poor poor unacceptable service. So I wait for an ....... They say death and life is in the power of the tongue. #menwithacausedallastx

Disappointing Service and Mediocre Food I had a pretty frustrating experience at this restaurant. Arrived at 10:40 AM and was put on the waitlist with a 20-25 minute wait time. That turned into 46 minutes before they finally called my name at 11:26 AM. Once seated, things didn’t improve. It took 14 more minutes to even place an order, and that was only after I flagged someone down at 11:40 AM. Then, the real wait began—our food didn’t arrive until 12:26 PM, and when it finally did, it wasn’t even hot. The food itself? Completely average, nothing worth the wait. What really stood out was a large party of 8-10 people who arrived and ordered after us but got their food much earlier. It makes me question whether something other than “bad service” was at play. Overall, a terrible experience with slow and inattentive service. Definitely not coming back.

Stopped in after a hike at Beavers Bend park. This was right off the main road in Hochatown. Service was slow but greeted immediately and sat rather quickly for it being a Saturday late morning. Like others mentioned, it seems they’re short staffed but it’s a small mom & pop place so it wasn’t a huge bother. We ordered 2 pancakes, a western omelette, a loaded breakfast burrito, French toast, and the 3 egg breakfast. Potatoes were delicious as well as the French toast. My daughter wasn’t feeling the look of the burrito (the outside of the tortilla was very white and didn’t look cooked) but she said it was really tasty and ate the whole thing. My boyfriend didn’t talk - just ate! Haha! Pancakes are GIANT and soooo good! Def a place to check out while in the area.

Absolutely awful. Went to Bevers Bend for the first time on June 24th, 2016, got in late at night, had a rough start. Went to Steven's Gap the next morning to refresh ourselves from the awful night before. Service was somewhat slow considering the very few people there, but the food was pretty decent. We each got a cheeseburger with fries, so the wait wasn't awful.. Only 25 minutes or so. The next morning we returned, hoping for better service. Upon walking in, the small talk we attempted to make with our waitress from the day before was once again denied. We were rushed to a table after waiting several minutes, and nearly forced into ordering drinks before sitting down. 45 minutes after ordering, our food finally comes out, colder than the water in the river in the camp. So, we retrieve the waitress and begin to tell her about the issues we are having, and before we could finish she grabbed our biscuits and high-tailed it outta there. Upon her return, we finish complaining. She then grabs our plates and runs to the kitchen, yelling to the cook across the restaurant. By the time she returns with our remade food, we've been at this place for over 1hr15min, and the food she brought back wasn't even the right food, and by this time in highly fed up, so I let her know pretty quickly that it was wrong. She then gets in our faces and tells us that she's had enough of our crap, and that she was tired of dealing with us. So, as we get up to leave this awful environment, we're banned from this forsaken place by the hateful waitress, which was fine by us. We went down to the bevers Bend restaurant and got extremely great food and service, for the same price, and closer to camp. If you've read all this, I apologize for the huge rant above. My girlfriend and I were just completely dumbfounded by the horrific service and treatment we...

MY family and I went to Broken Bow to stay in a cabin over the weekend. We left Monday morning 7/9/2018 and decided to have breakfast at Stevens Gap. They were not busy when we entered. The lady who "greeted" us, if you can call it that, was rude and very short. She rudely pointed us in a direction to seat ourselves. Shortly after we sat, a much nicer waitress came over and took our drink order and then shortly after that we ordered food. Twice we had to flag someone down for coffee refills which is ridiculous! After about 30-45 of waiting on food, all but my husband got our food. he waited at least 5 minutes for someone to come back with his plate but no one did so we had to flag down the waitress. She grabbed our ticket off the table without a single word and NEVER came back!!!! WE all finished eating while we waited for ANYONE to come back with my husbands food. They never did so we got up to pay which took another 5 minutes for our waitress to come over and help us. by this time my husband is fuming! The waitress came to check us out but had no idea where our ticket was so she rang us up from whatever was off the top of her head. it came out to $12.22. None of us know how she got that number. Nobody ever apologized or acknowledged they messed up. The whole ordeal could have been made right with a simple SORRY but they couldn't even do that. The food was mediocre for the price to begin with. Id rather go to Mcdonalds. WE will never go back to this place. I hope anyone who does go, has a much better experience and these people learn some decent customer service skills. I only gave it 1 star because I cant give 0 stars. The Blue Rooster is much better and way...
