Only giving a one star because I have to give something to write a review. To start from the beginning, as we walked in the first thing we were greeted by was "our outdoor seating is closed and our bathrooms are out of order but have a seat anywhere you would like". On a sunny day with the temp of 72-74 there is no excuse for outdoor seating to be closed other then pure laziness and completely unacceptable for both bathrooms to be out of order at the same time and still be open to business. However, we decided to go ahead and give it a chance. I asked my server if they had coffee and her reply was "Yes but I would have to go make it", I was completely dumbfounded as this is apart of your job as a server so why make it sound like it's going to be an inconvenience to you. Afterwards we asked questions regarding the menu, this was our first time here, and each question got the reply of "I'm not sure", "I don't think so", "pretty certain we can't or they won't do that" and she never would go find out for us to be sure. Instead of making yourself look like you don't know anything about your job or don't care about your job, take the initiative to go find out the answers to your customers questions so you have accurate replys. We received our food, and while nothing was wrong with it it also was nothing special or worth the price tag considering it was nothing but greasy food. $5 for Okra is outrageous when it was a small boat and they had zero flavor and the ranch was watered down. For a BLT, Okra, Shrimp Poboy, Sweet Potato Fries, and a small order of Green Tomatoes it cost $40! That's as much as it is for a nice dinner out not a stop at 11am where everything is deep fried. When we went to check out my husband asked for a Togo box and received a piece of foil, I was so shocked I asked my server if she was serious and that's all they had for his messy poboy and she replied with "yep that's all we have" with a giggle followed by an eye roll. My husband told her we would never be back and instead of our server asking why or what happened she just walked away. Between the poor service we received, the over priced food, and then the fact that they no longer give military discount to active, veterans, or disabled veterans is why I gave this restaurant a one star (although they deserve no stars). I strongly would not recommend this...
Read moreUsed to be our favorite restaurant. Likely will never return and here is why:
On arrival, we were told we would need Covid masks to be served. No problem, we walked out to go find masks and came back.
We were then told you must order at the door prior to being seated as opposed to the more traditional sit and conversate about the menu. I'm guessing another Covid precaution.
While eating our meal, we observed a group of 5 males enter without masks. The same hostess informed them they would need masks. They ignored her request and she still proceeded to seat them while we were turned away.
The gentlemen then later returned to the front to place their order as the restaurant now requires. When the same hostess observed them doing so without masks she told them she would send a waitress to their table to take their orders the traditional way.
We watched as she arranged to have a waitress cater to them all the while she had no issues being adamant with couples that they could not enter nor order without a mask.
Before leaving I politely asked the lady why we along with others were turned away and forced to order uncomfortably before being seated but the group of males she catered to when they refused to follow the business' Covid guidelines.
She informed me that she let them enter and let them order from their table so as to quote 'try to diffuse a situation'
These gentlemen were not causing a disturbance. They just flat out ignored her and they were allowed to be served and order how they like.
So basically only those of us willing to be respectful to the request of the business get substandard service in the name of Covid safety.
Should we return again, we will not be following their Covid rules and we expect to be seated and have a waitress sent to our table for our order the traditional way.
As for the food, quality has gone far down since our last visit. Used to have the best fried green tomatoes. Not any more. Also our server never tended to us and had to be...
Read moreWe came here for a bachelorette party dinner . First things first we came in somewhere around 7:15 and did not leave until they closed at 10 . We were the last people to leave . It was only 5 of us . As we sat down everything was fine however . She took our order and we waited and waited and watch all the tables around us even the ones who got there after us with bigger parties get their food first suddenly our waitress disappear as well and we got another waitress about a hour into us waiting ( we were having good conversation and didn’t notice how long it took ) our waiter came out and said our food would be on the way 30 min later nothing . So finally our food comes out two hours into being there and guess what two of orders were wrong . And some our food was cold . One girl didn’t make a big deal because she was ready to eat but the other was explained she ordered Nashville hot chicken not regular chicken. I was cool that we got our food late until our waiter said “oh your order is wrong yeah here you go” so nonchalantly no apology or offer to get her something else . We even asked for the Nashville hot stuff on the side and she pointed to the condiments and said there’s stuff to spice it up Over there which was regular hot sauce . That’s when I got upset but I still kept my composure so I asked for the manager and politely explained out experience . She was so not concerned about it either she went to another manager and they offered to take a basket off and free dessert (we took the offer) not to mention all the employees were scolding us and talking about us when they were clearly in the wrong....nonetheless I would like to tell you guys please stay away from this place if your tourists we were having an amazing night until...
