I purchased a Lost Mary Space Edition Vape from this shop for $23.03. Within less than 5 minutes, I returned because the device was inoperable. The manager refused to provide an exchange, refund, or credit, citing a āno refundā policy allegedly posted on the door. I checked and it is there but it does not say tnat it applies to inoperable vapes.
When I asked for the ownerās contact information, the manager refused and became hostile. I recorded the interaction. During the recording, the manager admitted to selling marijuana flowers and THC vape cartridgesāboth of which are illegal to sell in Hawaii outside of state-regulated medical dispensaries (see HRS §329 and Hawaii Department of Health regulations). After I left, the manager attempted to intimidate me by recording my vehicle license plate.
This experience was unprofessional, unethical, and appears to involve violations of both Hawaii consumer protection law (HRS §480-2, unfair or deceptive acts or practices) and controlled substance laws.
Request For Remedy:
Unless this matter is resolved within 7 daysāincluding (1) reimbursement for the defective vape, (2) a written apology from management, and (3) a store credit for one replacement vapeāI will release the video publicly on social media and file formal complaints with the following authorities:
