We LOVE Palama Supermarket!! This was our go-to spot for awesome meals and Asian groceries during our time in Oahu. Not only do you get great prices on fresh produce, their food court also serves up super delicious bentos at more than affordable prices! The location on Makaloa St (not this one on N King St) also has stalls for sushi, Korean fried chicken, and coffee/waffles/binsoo, but we didn't try those. We went straight for the Korean bento offerings. Simply put, if you're a fan of Korean food and are in the Honolulu area, you HAVE TO come to Palama Supermarket!! 10 stars!!

This is my Mom's favorite Asian/Korean grocery store. It's small compared to other Asian big-box markets but they have everything you need. But what I like about Palama on King is the variety of prepared food or bentos and the banchan. Really fresh, delicious and affordable. The parking lot is a little tight, and might have to wait for a little bit to get a spot. The staff/cashiers are very friendly.

I enjoy going to Palama Market and picking up already made box lunches and sides...the prices are still reasonable for the portions they offer and you can find a lot of different items from food, drinks, skin care, pots and pans, plants, and many other snacks and household items as well. Check it out for yourselves.

One of more 5 Korean markets on Oahu. They have a meat department that has your usual staples, such as shirt ribs, pork cutlets, and ground meats. He vegetables are pretty decent, and prices are better than most other markets. As you would expect, they have a great selection of Korean pears. The packaged goods sections are great for finding spices, seasonings, and pre-made items like soondubu mix, kimchi seasoning, and gochujang sauce. They also have a prepared foods kiosk area with kimchis, egg and veggie pancakes, mandoo, etc. However, the parking is problematic as it is one entrance in and another entrance out. Cars waiting for a stall can back up traffic into the street, and missing spot means you go all the way...

I don't know how many palama markets there are. I only know of two the one that's near downtown and the one that's near to Waikiki. They're very different in many ways. If I have time and I'm going downtown I prefer to shop at the one downtown on King Street. Everyone is helpful they go out of their way to extend customer service. The other one it's a parking nightmare. Everyone seems to be angry that's parking and extremely impatient. The attitude is just a little bit north of welcome to palama give me your money now leave! But that's just me. I'm sure either store can provide the items that you're looking for it's just that I believe and what I see is the customer experience is better at palama on King Street...

Today Thursday April 27 , I really wanted meatjun plate and we were at the food area in the back left at 9:10. Sadly workers just look at us and after waiting 3 min or so a worker ran and flipped the closed sign to open and took our order. We ordered meat jun and chicken katsu. Meatjun had 2 pieces of hair , one I ignored it and after almost eating all meatjun was another on paper before the rice. I am quite sad that whoever packed the food their hair keeps falling. and I am sure they saw the hair before putting meatjun on the paper. Meatjun was not hot but thankfully the chicken katsu was fresh. I wish whoever pack the food , was more thoughtful on how they feel if they saw someones hair...
