During my trip to Honolulu, Hawaii, I had the pleasure of visiting Tamashiro Market, a gem that deserves a solid 5-star rating. Firstly, the standout feature of this market is its fresh and delicious poke, offering a great variety that caters to different palates. Furthermore, the pricing is remarkably affordable, providing great value for the quality on offer.

However, it's important to note that Tamashiro Market does have the distinct aroma of a fish market. This is hardly surprising, yet it's something to be mindful of before visiting. Essentially, it's part of the authentic experience.

Additionally, the staff here are notably friendly, adding to the overall positive atmosphere of the market. Unfortunately, there are a couple of drawbacks. Parking is limited, available only in front of the shop, which can be a bit of a challenge. Also, there's no eat-in corner, so it's more of a grab-and-go situation.

In conclusion, my experience at Tamashiro Market was thoroughly enjoyable, and it's a place I would definitely revisit on my next trip to Honolulu. The market stands out for its quality seafood, affordable prices, and friendly service, despite the minor inconveniences of limited parking and the lack of dining...

This was my last stop in Hawaii on the way to the airport (super close), and I’m so glad I made a point to come here. The poke bowl here is almost too good to be true. You can only get one type of poke with each bowl, but you can choose any type you want with no additional costs. Honestly the fact that the poke bowl here costs only $12 is simply mind blowing!

On top of that, the staff serves everything with care and the aloha spirit. He let me try a piece of each of the ahi tunas so I could decide which one to get. I swear, every single one I tried was amazing, but I chose the spicy ahi tuna which was world class. The massive chunks of fresh ahi; in an amazing spicy sauce, with the sides that it comes with it is literally perfection. This was probably be one of the best bowls of poke that I’ll ever have. Sometimes poke is too salty for me, but this place actually was the perfect amount of seasoning. I saw it on a Mark Wiens video and I’m so glad I did, truly...

The smell is very pungent which is to be expected from a fish market. I bought fresh salmon & I hafta say it was the best salmon I’ve made/bought here! The salmon was so tender & pink & it literally touched me back when I touched it. I don’t know about u but that’s how I love my salmon. I asked the butcher that cut the fish about where it came from & you know the basics; any color or preservatives added, & he surely knew about the fish which was very helpful & showed that he had some care about his job which I greatly appreciate. The prices for the fish go from low grade to higher grade which I believe works best, so I could see what’s best for my budget. So for the price, it was definitely worth it! I will definitely go every week! The parking was a little odd mostly because it’s just situated on the corner so it’s very limited parking in their lot but then the miracle sign that says park at the church & boom so much space. Thank goodness for this...

I have no idea how the seafood tastes at this place, nor have I ever been to the market, but a friend brought back some cookies. Shortbread and chocolate chip walnut ones to be exact. Made by Mikey's Favorites. H O L Y yum. The tiny bags are a bit expensive but man do they taste out of this world. Super buttery goodness. Way better than Cookie Corner IMHO.

Guy was personally able to secure this 28 pound yellowfin tuna for me at an incredible price. It's always luck of the draw because you never know what the fishing boats are going to bring back in but call a few days early and see what might be available. Strongly recommended to be in contact with tamashiro Market before just going down.
