I regret moving into Hawthorne at Wisteria complex. My experience here has been nothing short of a nightmare. Here are some of the major issues I have faced: Cleanliness: The common areas including the breezeways are filthy. Animals feces and blood all through. Trash pile of for days and weeks. They force a valet trash in your lease in which they barely pick up your trash but you are still forced to pay even though you’re not fully able to utilize the services. Valet trash consist of someone coming to pick up your trash from your door and take it to the dumpster. I have been having to haul my trash off to another dumpster because there is no room in the trash compactor. There are raccoons and rats everywhere where all the trash is just sitting there. This is very deplorable. Noise: The walls are paper-thin. I can hear my neighbors’ conversation, music, annoying barking dogs, and even their footsteps. It’s impossible to get a good night’s sleep with all the noise. Security: The security gates have been frequently left open for months allowing unwanted/unknown guests access. Maintenance: The electrical system in my unit is unreliable, with frequent outages and flickering lights. It often takes several days for maintenance to respond, and the solutions provided are usually just temporary fixes. I have taken a loss of hundreds and hundreds dollars of food. Maintenance Supervisor (Leviticus Clemons) is because she’s too busy being in the bed with the tenant Kaqueline Hall and getting high off laced marijuana. Another reason why maintenance work orders are behind, another member of the maintenance team be taking naps in the model unit (see below). Also, there is a serious package theft by maintenance. Despite, packages being marked as delivered, these packages have never reached my unit. After investigating and speaking with neighbors, I’ve found that several residents have faced similar issues. Management: The management (Christy Laird) is incredibly unresponsive. She’s a manipulative habitual liar and doesn’t complete anything she makes promises on. She is completely uninterested when you approach her with concerns in the well being of the tenants. She’s too busy being on dating sites, sleeping with random married men unprotected reason why she has to pop plan B’s every other day and take cocaine to function. She puts more effort in a pet park verse what the tenants actually pay for. The kids playground was taking down so the pets can have a luxury place to play. Pets don’t pay rent so I’m unsure why that is one of her main focal point. There is a faulty alarm system, electrical issues, and plumbing issues in the brand new building. I have had the discard hundreds and hundred dollars of food on several different occasions. because of the electrical system. Those building were built with legos. I have multiple issues that aren’t fixed that Christy assured me that would be done upon signing my lease. A year later those problems still exist. She doesn’t do walk through after the contractors. All the tenants that signed a lease in that new building broke their lease and have moved. Overall, I strongly advise against moving into the Hawthorne at Wisteria. The high rent is absolutely not worth the stress and discomfort you’ll endure living here.

Two stars is only for what is outside the apartment. Stay away from this dump! Hawthorne at Wisteria has been our home for a year (APT. 55B). There are some positives and mostly negatives of living here and I will list them out. Cons: -The gate worked for a majority of the time we were there, but often did not work when we had guests try to buzz in. -There is not enough parking anywhere, if you come in after 9:00 you may as well park down the hill and walk. -Before moving in the apartment above us had a flood so we were delayed weeks before moving in. -When we moved in the apartment was filthy, it was just as dirty as it was when we toured it and they told us it would be cleaned before we moved in. -We had a spider infestation and we sprayed our apartment weekly along with pest control spraying, and we still found spiders in our bathrooms, hallways, and living room daily. -We found mouse traps in our pantry and within the AC unit that we were not aware of until we actually had a mouse problem. (pictured) -We had a mouse in our pantry due to a hole we did not know was in the wall. And another mouse was found in our bedroom. -The most recent mouse was found in the master closet. There was a broken shelf and after lifting the shelf, there was the hole that the mice came from. (pictured) -After calling maintenance we were told that “he is on call he will be there later” with no apology or urgency after the third mouse. Also, maintenance never showed up that day. -There was also a dead mouse outside of our building for several days. (pictured) -The ceiling in our bathroom was falling apart slowly, and when maintenance came to fix it, it still looked horrible. (pictured) -The AC leaked and went out on two separate occasions, and we had to leave our apartment. We were not compensated for these two times we had to leave. -The walls were cracking, and we were finding new cracks in our walls every week. (pictured) -There has never been an apology, or even urgency to fix anything that was broken in our apartment. -1300 a month for a 1 bedroom is ridiculous for the amount of problems you have. This apartment complex is a joke. Pros: -Management were friendly and helpful (until you start to complain about problems) -Christy was very accommodating with the move out process. -Maintenance will get things done. Dwayne is awesome! Always came in a timely manner, he was friendly, and informative. -The amenities: gym, pool, dog park are all great. -The location is in a great area for groceries, shopping, social activities, and for the school system. -There are so many kids around and the complex is very family oriented with many different office events. -The apartments are very spacious. With that being said there are way more negatives about the apartment itself. Overall this apartment complex has a great atmosphere but what they really did is created a nice website, and a good image on social media to portray a great apartment complex, but really they are doing mediocre work to fix the things that are wrong, refusing to fix the insect and rodent problems, and overpricing these old, rundown, and filthy apartments.

Charging tooooo much for rent for units not even renovated!! Update: This the temperature in my apartment at 8pm!! So just imagine what it was when it was almost 100 degrees outside during the day!! They come around her hit it with a hammer and expect it to work! The AC haven’t cooled properly since I moved in! Going to Riverchase Landing to view units! They have fully renovated units including full cable package for what I’m paying for an old unit that doesn’t even cool properly!! I wish I could not give the 1 star!!!

This is beginning to the worst nightmare of my life!!!!! I have never experienced such poor managing until I became a resident of Hawthorne at Wisteria. You think that you can become friends or family like with the management and the staff!!! But not here...you can tell them things that's going with you or the property to make it better, I was even asked to give a good review of the property and I'm glad I didn't!!!! Me and my husband were just married on July 22nd, gave a call to Milan to let her know...hey we are leaving can you get maintenance to come in to re-stain our tub, this call was made on July 25, be the way....she ensured me that someone would come by and fix the issue!!! It is August 11th and no one has even been to look at the problem , my tile has come apart and I told her all of that and she stated that she would put the order in!!!!! This is the worst part of it all....we get back home from our honeymoon to relax and my husband goes to the car to get something and our car was gone!!!!Needless to say it was towed because we were parked in handicapped parking....now mind you I have always parked my car there it has been there for months, due to an injury and I was on crutches so I had an legal handicapped tag to place in the window of my car!!! But this night when we get home THERE IS NO WHERE TO PARK!!!! It was about 12 am when we get back home trying to get our 4 year old out of the car and into the house from a 6 hour drive back...WE FORGOT TO PUT THE TAG IN THE CAR!!!! The next day he goes to the car it's gone!!!! Now why would they have a contract with a towing company in the first place when its not even enough space for the residents that live here!!!!! I'm sure we are not the only one's that has this problem!!!!!! And when I went to the office I was lied too....I was told that they didn't have a contract and they just randomly ride the property...Well first how can they ride the property when you have to have a code to get in the gate to even enter the premises? so that was a LIE!!! They were called out.. I was told that since I didn't have it visible I was on my own!!! I was told that the place was 4.4 miles from where we lived... turned out to be 16.2 miles. That was a lie. When we get there we had to pay $250 to get our car back!!!! This is the worst place to live.....I thought it was a great company, when they first bought the apartments out, but they are all about taking your rent up every year!!!! They don' want to fix anything and when you do renew your lease they don't offer to clean your carpet, update your apartment to any level, but yet still you have to update you rent!!!!!! The management here is awful and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!!! I'm all for giving anyone a chance to fix the problem....but when you just don't care to acknowledge the issue(s) that's when it becomes a problem!!!!!! I'm currently trying to seek legal help....My husband also falls down the steps, due to them trying to get the steps painted and the paint that was used was very slippery, I also talked to Milan about that and she stated that someone would give him a call and NO ONE HAS CALLED HIM YET!!!! THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!! WE NEED MORE PEOPLE TO POST THERE ISSUES, IT WILL SOON GET TO WHO NEEDS...
