Update: If you notice the response on here from owners, they say tbag it covers manufacturing. Let me ask this one simple question when a 2 battery cells fail in a 6 cell battery, what battery voltage will it have? Yes when the battery cells fail, they will not hold a charge nor will they show a charge. If one cell goes bad because of manufacturing defect, you will not cover the battery. So your warranty is useless against manufacturing defects. Yes the trickle charger works because it keeps our forklift battery charged.
I try to find something positive to say about every experience. However, I can think of nothing with this store. Let’s go back to May when a battery was purchased for a motorcycle. First it was the wrong size that they sold. Correct V, and AH but wrong size. I left the battery cover off to adjust for the over sized battery. Having constantly a trickle charger on the battery of 800mAh should have maintained the battery at a constant state of readiness without any damage. A few days ago the motorcycle had no power. I then put a regular 12V 3aH battery charger on it and it still wouldn’t maintain a charge. In fact it wouldn’t get above 8V. I took it back to get a replacement. The gentleman that assisted was somewhat helpful and said it was below charge. The manager was very rude and tried to mansplain things to me. I am not sure if it was a man or a woman. Might of been womansplaining. Anyway dealing with batteries on an industrial level and designing pipeline equipment that runs on batteries, and having studied this discipline while in college, it was easy to see that 2 cells in the battery were bad. I am the R&D Director and the Operations Manager. Gradually over the last two years we have gone away from using Batteries Plus. Main reason is it took them days to place tabs on batteries so they could be used to build battery packs soldering and of shady tack welding of the zinc tabs, literally they would fall off when touched. Tack welded zinc tabs are incredibly durable when tack welded. Not so with this BatteriesPlus. Long story short, it was so bad we bought our own battery tack welder to bring it in house for quality control. We also switched to buying a large portion of our batteries to a local Mom and Pops store with great customer service, Ace Electronics in Houston. After this experience today and having a non engineering person who only sells batteries tell me that there is nothing wrong with the battery and since it was below voltage they wouldn’t replace the 5 month old battery. I didn’t want a refund, I wanted a quality product. Both, a quality product and customer service are missing here. An abusive 30 something manager with zero engineering experience that fails to understand simple battery technology. Anyway, save time and either patronize a mom and pop’s store with good customer service or order from the internet that will stand behind the product they sell. Batteries Plus doesn’t warranty a faulty battery. Ohhh if one cell is bad they will but not two. LOL. Save time and frustration. Salesman I give a B- in customer service, the manager definitely an F and escalated this experience. Bye bye...
Read moreI purchased a battery for my scooter but after a week and a half i dreaded taking it back to get a replacement battery or money back. I made the long trip over just so Alfred could accuse me of doing something to the battery. He asked me so many questions until you thought Got you. At that point I just wanted my money back. Alfred stated they needed to analyze and charge the battery and that would take basically until the next day. I was upset but went along with it. The next day I had to call them and then I was told it was no good and I did not have any batteries like it in the entire store. Ha, now I will have to either drive to the heights or wait a week until it came in. Agin, I waited and waited but no call after9 days. So I call and ask about the battery some boy answered and stated he had to check if it was in, laughing all the while. I was placed on at least 3 holds then finally my battery was there. I asked for a refund because at this point I was totally disappointed and not satisfied this type of service. No refund can be given on a warranted battery, huh? So I had to go pick up the battery. I received a call from the manager two days later stating I could not get a refund but all of a sudden the battery is working. Mind you, this is the same battery that would not hold a charge and was well below the lowest range for the battery to work but they wanted to give it back to me. I returned several days later demanding a refund or a new battery that refused after about 10 minutes of questions from me. After this battery dies and my warranty ends they will never see me again. I have been buying batteries from this place for years but never againI truly hope the owner will reach out to me so we can discuss these problematic issues that continues to happen over...
Read moreI signed up for a 10% coupon by giving my email and phone number. All I had to do was supposedly purchase the item online and then pick up in store. Problem is that you're not able to purchase the product online, because it's in store. Shady. Furthermore, below you will see complaints of the company not honoring warranty because the voltage dropped below 10 volts. I am a motorcycle mechanic. When the cell on a battery goes bad, you are going to lose more than 2.7 volts. When batteries go bad you lose at least one cell. Just know when you purchase this thing thinking that you're going to get the warranty. They say, just know and understand that your warranty will not be honored. I bought the battery today because it's Monday and I need a battery. I ride every single day. Harley-Davidson, and trickle chargers, are engineered and designed just like batteries. You will see that this company blames the companies that make the battery tender. You will see this excuse over and over, with zero rebuttal to voltage drop caused by a dead cell. You'll see after this review they will post something that...
