Parking is free, but the lot is pretty small compared to the size of the park. The trails are mostly natural through the woods (no pavement). A few sections of trail are still closed due to damage from previous storms. Great for off-road biking, trail running and hiking. Can get muddy so make sure to wear appropriate shoes / boots. Lots of volunteers working to maintain the park. The north end is under construction for the land bridge project.

Love having this trail within the Houston limits. My girlfriend and I like “escaping” for a bit and doing a few casual miles in these fun trails. Don’t encounter too many people on the trials which is nice but the ones that you do are always nice. Great place to get your nature in
?!?!
Some trails are one-track, some are wide enough for a semi. Parts of one-tracks are technical. All trails are well-kept, except for those that are blocked off. Be a trailblazer. All can be hiked, biked, ran, etc. Be alert on those multi-use one-tracks. Yelling helps.

Dangerous!!!

Note that Memorial park contains many trails for walking and running along the new prairie, north of Memorial. The MTB trails identified by colors have been built and maintained by mountain bikers for over thirty years. The MB trails are covered in roots and tree limbs, so require speed to clear. General description of the whole area apparently promote the colored trails for multi-use, but they are not appropriate for hiking or children with training wheels. If you hike the colored trails, you are putting yourself, your children, your dog (specially those not on leash) and the bikers in danger of an accident and broken bones. There are beautiful hiking trails at the Arboretum next door and all around the park which are great for running, hiking, children and dogs. Please don’t ruin your day and others by feeling adventurous and walking through the colored trails. If you do consider that mountain bikers have to ride fast and there are many blind...

My hubby and friend(s) have been hiking here lately, it has given us a deeper appreciation for health and for quality time outdoors. We LOVE IT and highly recommend! Oh and we also recommend that you carry a hydration pack and hiking shoes for a more comfortable experience. We hope you...
