Ruby's Wig Salon — Attraction in Houston

My 11 year old daughter has had Alopecia since she was 2 years old. Until now she has only had spots of hair loss here and there. This summer all of her hair started rapidly falling out. The anxiety this created for her was becoming too much to bear. She made the brave decision to shave the remainder of her hair and try a wig. I looked around for wig shops that would be appropriate for her needs. I came across Ruby’s in Houston. I called and spoke with the owner, George. He was so helpful and full of knowledge. After speaking with him it felt this was the best option for her. We made the hour and a half drive to Houston for a walk in appointment and they were very accommodating. My daughter picked out the most beautiful synthetic wig and was ready shave her head. They had a privacy curtain during this experience and I can’t even explain how nice it was to have that privacy in those moments. Even though my daughter made the decision on her own it was a very hard and emotional situation. Ms Janice (the stylist) was so patient, encouraging, and supportive. We took breaks and let my daughter recoup and we never felt rushed. Once my daughter put her wig on and saw herself in it all of worry was laid to rest. My wife needed a wig and we searched on line for a wig salon. For those who have had no prior experience wit wig, there is something to learn. The online reviews of this salon were excellent 4.8/5. We're glad that we went there and validated their excellent service with our first hand experience. The onwer, George, and the hair stylist, Janice, have been extremely nice and helpful. They were very acommodating wit the appointment time as well, since we have to drive some distance to get there. First of all, they both demonstrated caring attitude towards their clients, quite a few of them went there for a medical reason. They have a large selection of various wigs, and they are very knowledgeable about different types. Jance was very patient and spent times to educate us with detailed explanations. We learned quite a lot from her. She also made some very practical suggestions for my wife. The order process was very quick and it only took a few days. Janice has been a hairstylis and provided the last touch/trim to the wig on final trial. George has been very personable and knowledgeable about dealing with insurance for potential reimbusement. I took my mother there today. She walked in there with so much apprehension. My mother left there feeling renewed and overjoyed. Ms. Simin walked my mom through choosing the best wig for her needs. My mom is going through a battle against breast cancer. Ms. Simin cut and styled my mom’s new do’s with so much attentiveness to detail and care. So much so my mom bought several. We met the owner George and he was so kind to us. He walked us through the process of trying to get a possible reimbursement for her wigs from her insurance. He even gave us so much information on how to get my mom further assistance with her battle with breast cancer. I am so glad he has kept this gem going. He has managed to take what can be a traumatic experience for many into a therapeutic experience. My mom loved her salon experience there. My mom felt so pampered and tended to. This place is a godsend. I highly recommend everyone who’s going through things that causes them to need a wig to please go here. They treated us with so much kindness and empathy.
