UPDATE: I had a meeting with the owners and it went surprisingly well! They asked me to remove my review, but I kinda don’t think that’s appropriate because I still had a very very bad experience.
I am very appreciative that the owners took time to speak with me. It was a productive talk - they listened to my concerns, apologized and are working towards solutions. Also making it clear that the line of communication is always open.
I was told my neighbor will be moved, but he’s still here today. Hopefully that will be taken care of very soon.
There are improvements such as bigger trash cans and actually the past few days the bathroom has been spotless.
It’s disheartening that it took me making MULTIPLE complaints to management, making a report with HPD, making a bad (but very honest) review and requesting a meeting with the owners before my concerns were taken seriously.
It may have been insensitive of me to make a blanket statement by questioning the ethics of the whole establishment due to two of their employees. Although, I know Jason and Stephanie’s behavior was not very Christian-like during this exchange, it doesn’t speak to the whole company.
This is a small, family like community. Bible verse throughout the property. They even had a service this past Sunday.
The owners and Steve are great. I still think Jason needs to be addressed. He called me “racist” multiple times and that is very offensive. An apology is appropriate but I won’t hold my breath on that…. Original: I have a drug addict staying in the spot next to me. Not a big deal until, he impedes on my space. He and his guest park in my parking spot and intrude on my space that I pay for. It has been reported MULTIPLE times. I’ve been told he’s on his “last notice before eviction” multiple times, but somehow he’s still here. About a month ago, he moved my things to make room so his guest could park in my spot. Today, he ran over my belongings with his truck. I reported it AGAIN. Nothing was done. In fact, after I tried to address him myself, management called me racist and threatened to evict me….. someone who has had zero issues since being here. He has been blaring music all night for a week, amidst other things that break park rules. I have followed the appropriate channels to report something going wrong but somehow I am still the one in the wrong. (In hindsight, I should’ve escalated this to reporting it to HPD, but I really was trying to avoid that.) Management is unprofessional - specifically because I was blatantly called racist, and they were intentionally trying to intimidate me - a solo female, when there were 3+ people fussing and threatening me.
The facilities have been under construction since before I got here and still are. The bathrooms (there’s supposed to be two for the whole community but only one is functioning lol) are always filthy. The park is always full of dog poop. The garbages are always overflowing.
Still in disbelief at how terrible management had chosen to deal with things.
The location is nice because it’s close to things and if you need to use public transportation it’s super close.
There’s constantly homeless people who linger inside and outside the park.
I think this place has lots of improvements to do, but lots of potential….
It’s actually insane to me that they advertise this place as a religious spot with a prayer garden and such, when the staff exhibits this kind of behavior.
Super loud here all the time. They cut off utilities without notice (for maintenance or whatever). Wi-Fi absolutely sucks.
Park “security” doesn’t wear anything identifying themselves and have a habit of approaching people in a very rude manner. One time, my uber was leaving and the park “security” scream at him “I don’t know what your business is here in my park but you need to slow the f down”. My driver was super offended and I felt really bad. He shouldn’t have been speeding, there’s just a better way to get your point across…. Ultimately, it’s nice to have security, I just wish they handled themselves more...
Read moreIt was a pleasure to stay here while my daughter was undergoing surgery at Methodist Hospital in the Houston Medical Center complex. I originally booked my stay for 5/12 through 5/16. I arrived on Sunday afternoon on 5/12. I was met by a weekend staff member who was extremely nice and made check in a breeze. I was extremely impressed with the first impressions of the park. I never would have guessed that there would be such a hidden gem of an RV park located 3 miles away from the Medical Center. The park is very well manicured with mature trees and foliage throughout. It is very apparent that the park is well maintained and kept in great shape. I have two dogs which is why I prefer to stay in my RV rather than a hotel room. The park is very pet friendly and there is a fenced in dog park area in the back of the park where I was able to let my dogs off their leashes to run and do their bizness. One of the main reasons why I chose to stay here was their complimentary shuttle service they offer Monday thru Friday to the Medical Center. Corey and his wife Nicole manage the park and Corey drives the shuttle van each day to the Medical Center. Corey was extremely accommodating and was extremely easy to work with as I scheduled my visits to the hospital as my daughter underwent surgery and recovery. As my departure date grew closer I quickly realized I was going to have to stay for 3 more nights. Nicole worked effortlessly to help me extend my visit and told me that I was more than welcome to extend my stay as many times as necessary. In the past when this has happened at other parks I have sometimes been unable to extend my stay or at the very least been asked to move to a different spot in the park which as everyone knows requires allot of breakdown and set up work !!!! Staying here made a difficult situation a lot more easier to deal with. Nicole and Corey were extremely nice and helped my family and I get through an incredibly emotional time in our lives and it was much appreciated. Water pressure in the park was great and there was even cable TV provided as well. I hope that my daughter does not have a repeat visit to Methodist for any other surgeries , however if she does , i will definitely be staying at South main RV park to get her...
Read moreWell, these folks charge you 700 bucks a month and give you a long list of rules and a map with a legend on it that showcases what few amenities they have, one of which, are shower houses. The first time I went to their shower houses, (there are 2) the handicapped one is locked. (Management claims there's a water leak) The other shower house had no cold water, and a window unit that was unplugged. I plugged it in, and by the time I got out of the shower, I was sweating profusely, due to no cold water and the air conditioner only having run for a few minutes. So I left the air conditioner running for the next person in line. The next time I came back to use the shower, the manager had replaced the wall outlet with a blank cover, rolled up and zip tied the cord to the unit. When I called and asked why, he said because people were leaving it running and not closing the door. I don't know who left the door open. But for a full park at 700 a month I think they can afford to run a window unit wide open for no more than 80 bucks a month.
Response to Nancy Blood:
I'm so sorry I rounded up $30 on the rent cost. After electricity, it's over $700 a month. I don't know who is trashing your shower houses, or leaving them a mess, but that's what security cameras are for. You don't charge for water so I don't know what difference it makes what shower anyone uses. I've seen a few little old ladies go in there with towels and I know the poor things were burning up. Put a return spring on the door, or a sign. 7,000 btu window units run just barely over $100. Yours was struggling because you bought the cheapest, lowest btu unit available and never cleaned the filter. You shouldn't advertise having something that doesn't work. No aggressive dogs rule is null and void when the schnauzer competition comes to town and 50 of them want to move in. Real nice and clean park by the way. I love the 1/2" CPVC pipe ran across the top of the ground and the wads of coaxial cable just strewn about. That's the first thing that comes to mind when I'm looking for a nice place to stay. I like how you gave yourself a 5 star review with your reply. It won't wash out the 1...
