I came to check out this parking lot specifically for launching a kayak at the beginning of the Buffalo Bayou Texas paddling Trail. The parking lot does not allow for parking with a kayak trailer. The walls here at this spot are kind of steep, but it looks manageable with a moderate or heavy sized kayak on a cart. On the north wall, the parking lot side, there are little metal pieces inside the blocks, which could be used as a kayak tied down prior to launching, this spot has a water flow, level gauge to be accessed online on the other side of the Bayou. There is a couple of picnic tables and a historic area. There are plenty of trash cans, but I did not see any barbecue pits, and there are no restrooms. It’s opens at 7am.

Wow! wow! wow!. What a fantastic trail it is!!!! This trial goes far away and get us with it. Well maintained bike and hike trial. This park has multiple entry points. So people from different part of the city can come together. It is a 12 miles trail hike and bike park. It has varieties of features that satisfies people of different needs. Features such as, canone access, butterfly garden, wildflower garden, pond and lake, gazebo, kid fit park, playground, boat launcher, picnic area, fishing, hike and bike trail, outdoor shower, drinking water fountain and lots of trees.

The lot holds about 35 cars, On the west side of the road just after Zee Auto on Highway 6. This is the west trail head for Terry Hershey park. and the East side of the Bush Park though the section is more a Reservoir. The parking lot gives you access to both. Also the damn is here, When releasing water there is a mist from the water churning, it smells like pungent and get all over things. just a warning after heavy rains. This part of Highway 6 is a bit impoverished. I would advise double checking that you locked your doors.
