I ordered 4 pallets of Scotts Pro Vista St Augustine and what they sent me was a weed-infested bunch of sod. I called them 8 days after install and sent them pictures and they blamed me for the weeds. Despite the weeds only being in their sod and not in any of my other grass and the same weeds growing on different sides of my house.
Their advice was to just spray it with weed killer but you can’t do that for 30 days. After I threatened a chargeback on my credit card they send me 1 pallet of replacement sod for the worst of it.
The pile of weeds on my driveway is what I pulled at the 30-day mark after replacing the worst original sod. Some of which was entire sections of weeds. It has an embarrassing eyesore for a month.
I would use another sod company but if you do order from them be prepared to fight back and make sure to use a credit card so you can chargeback if they try...

The second pallet was grown in clay dirt and would not root in my prepped soil. 6 months later, you could literally lift pieces of sod up from the ground. My $500 water bill for two months ensures that it was watered quite adequately. I called King Ranch and was told to take it up with the nursery I bought it from. As much as I hated to do it, I had to use a different nursery to get sod from and I would not buy it if they could not confirm that it didn’t come from King Ranch and it wasn’t grown...
Read moreI think one reason they have mixed reviews is that they sell different quality grass to their commercial customers. I went in the day after a truckload of sod was delivered and they wouldn't sell me what that truck dropped off. They directed me to a single pallet with yellowing grass. I thought I would buy a little at $2.00 a piece to bring it back to green. Unfortunately they charged $3 per piece. They don't post prices so how can you know if they are just trying to stick it to you. Loews and Home Depot have much better grass if you time your purchase right and it is only a dollar more. The plus sized woman that works there...
