Dairy Queen — Restaurant in Houston

I had a taste for some ice cream and decided to come here. I waited 5 minutes at the drive thru with no type of interaction. It was around 09:15pm and they don’t close until 11. I thought maybe they closed early. When I pulled around, I seen others going in the inside so I thought maybe their drive thru doesn’t work. When I walked in, there was a guy slouching in one of the booths and no one else behind the counter. I thought the guy was a customer until he asked “delivery?” about a minute later. I let him help the lady next to me who was there for a delivery and no one still was there to take my order. I waited even longer and finally seen three other workers come from the back of the store. Two of the young ladies decided to come to the register. I asked them if the drive thru was not working and they both told me that it was. When I told them that I had been waiting 5 minutes, one of the girls stated that “I was just out there and I didn’t see anybody.” I informed her that I waited five minutes and she laughed and said “I literally was just out there and didn’t see you.” I asked her how long ago that was and she said “like three minutes ago.” I told her that I was already inside waiting to be serviced. She didn’t have a response. She just laughed and continued to be on her phone at the register while the other young lady apologized. I walked out. This place needs new management. I ordered food last night and charged me for not getting all of what I ordered. When I was waiting for someone to ask for my order, I waited like 2 minutes then the careless woman who was taking my order did not even get all of my order well, told me to go to the window. I arrived at the window and waited for 7minutes to get my order and to pay. It was @9:54pm Sunday December 1st when she opened the window, I repeated my order and she said she got all of my order and when I gave her the card to pay for my order she sounded surprisingly “you didn’t pay yet?” I said no, I waited for 7 minutes waiting for you to open so I can get my order and pay for it. I paid for a cheese burger with fries and extra large fries, and a strawberry milkshake. Surprisingly she charged me $10 and I got only a cheeseburger with fries only. I asked her if I can get a drink too like I ordered she said NO WE CLOSED NOW…woww, when I told her that I need my extra fries she looked at my eyes giggling saying:”WE ARE CLOSED.” I didn’t have that time to argue with anybody, I just took off and left. My son who is 10 years old said to me that She is bad. This is a very bad management, please try so hard to change management because some of us customers are not happy at all. We love DQ and we want to enjoy our food at the same time. Please please do something and talk to your employees to behave professional...

Okay, so short version of long story...Blizzards were good. Service was good. Building and decor are a little old and run down. Could use a little freshening up.

Long version...Service was very good in fact. The man that took and served our order was obviously paying attention and realized our third ice cream, a vanilla cup, was actually for our dogs. We like to make a big deal about getting the dogs their cup so I was delighted that the clerk played along.

I am hesitant to say though that the posters and signs in the windows are very, very faded and very much out of date. Cleaning up the outside of the windows and the immediate area around the building would do wonders for the overall impression of this restaurant. Honestly, this Dairy Queen is so dated and run down I opted for ice cream instead of food cuz I wasn't sure if the inside of the kitchen would be in any better condition.
