Restrooms Filthy! Way Over Priced for small Park! My wife and I took our 11 year old granddaughter July 27th, 2014 to scout out the place for future outings. We arrived there when it opened as it was much less expensive for the first hour. Park was clean except for bathrooms and they were filthy, looked like they haven't been cleaned in several days with pubic hair/ spit on tops of urinals, toilets, etc. And I should know what a clean restroom should look like as I have been a plumber for 30 plus years. We did take in empty water bottles as we read on line where we would be able to get free cool water at the water fountains located around the park. When I asked two different young employees, they didn't seem to know where they were. The only ones we found were at a restroom area by the lockers. The water was cool but had a dirt nasty taste, lines were probably not flushed when the plumbing was installed. I live in Hudson Oaks and my tap water is not bad to taste. The park itself is geared for children under 13 and the only thing we two adults did was the lazy river and wave pool. The lazy river was way to slow and in an awkward place as if it was an after thought of design. The wave pool was good and we spent most of our time there as my granddaughter went and used the slides around the small park. Being in the building industry all my adult life, I couldn't help but notice that there were some serious foundation(concrete) cracks in the lazy river area and the wave pool. There were several 1/8-1/4" cracks running 20 to 40 feet in the wave pool itself .The owners are going to have a leaking mess on their hands and major repairs in the near future. Whoever built this park did a hap hazard job and the city did not give a good inspection as this would not have happened with seasoned professional contractors and rank city officials. We stayed almost 3 hours and my little grand daughter asked if we could go, and so we did. Slash Kingdom will have to do some high upgrades before I will go back. I have several grand children I was planning on taking them to SPK over the course of the next year but now don't know if I will ever set foot inside again. Bring your prices down on admission and food and up grade park, you will get more business!
Word of advice Slash Kingdom / Hudson Oaks; We don't have a lot of choices out here and I realize progress is happening to remedy that but business's here now need to be top shelf to compete with Cowtown that is just 15 minutes away.

Read moreWe got suckered in because it's about 5 minutes from the house....but 3 season passes at $300 total puts this park in the same tier as Six Flags or the much larger Hawaiian Falls parks (actually HF is cheaper)...and no way is it worth that. The park itself looks nearly abandoned because of an almost total lack of landscaping (or even simple weedeating)...the terrain all around the park has been left to grow wild. The lazy river is the most disappointing...the water is about 2 feet deep, and seems like they're too cheap to fill it properly. Meanwhile you just meander around mostly bare or weed-infested ground. The (very few) slides are ok, but the lifeguards haven't been trained in line management at all...because of that, it takes much longer than it should to do a slide. For instance, the body slides are all on a single platform, 5 total. But instead of having people que up on the platform itself behind the slides they want to ride, people have to wait on the stairs below...so more often than not you have 3 slides going instead of 5....it's such a simple problem but beyond the grasp of these folks. Speaking of the lifeguards...really nice, polite kids but not sure who is teaching them how to spot people in trouble or why they are constantly running flat out from station to station...the guards are all forced (I assume) to do this mechanical head movement scanning thing of the area they are responsible for, really sort of humorous...seems likely they would be more likely to miss a person in trouble simply because of paying more attention to the pain in their necks or the nasty bruise from busting their tail after they slipped running at full speed to their next duty station...I mean c'mon. The Christian music has been cited as a plus...and it's fine but the rotation of 3 ads they play non-stop, mostly to hock a ridicilous $60 pass allowing you to visit all the (probably crappy) Splash Kingdom parks once (realizing they are spread from Amarillo to Shreveport) grates on the nerves.
The worst thing I can say is that I have to convince my 6-year old to go. She'd much rather go to Hawaiian Falls or Pirates Cove...so yep, that's what we'll do next year. I'd be surprised to see this place last past this season.
I don't know about the amputee and while that sounds tragic in so many ways, I think it's more appropriate to rate this place on the merits of your personal experience, not something you heard about from...
Read moreI remember when this place first opened and it was really nice. But it is going down hill fast! For so many reasons. Mainly customer service. A bunch of kids that are not interested in customer service. We used go to splash kingdom during their twilight time. They closed at 9 on Fridays and you could get a good 4 hours in! Wonderful family time at a reasonable price. We would pay at the gate. Now forget about it. They cut their hours back and I learned today that you need to purchase tickets online in advance for the reasonable price. Got to the gate today with my friend (whom had never been) and we were shocked to learn we were paying double because we did not purchase online. To top it off the ticket kid was rude, matter of fact and did not care. I payed $60 for 3 hours and let me tell you it was not worth it!!! Issues inside the park. #1 They never have a decent amount of tubes especially for the lazy River. Last year they blamed it on COVID. Still do not have tubes and half are flat. #2 lazy River was dirty bugs everywhere in it. # 3 I ordered 2 small icees. Only had one flavor, they were watery and no lids. Usually you fill an icee to the top of the lid. And the kid behind the counter was again matter of fact and did not care. It may not be a big deal to them but come on I payed $60 to get in and almost $8 for two small watery icees. That were not filled!! # 4 obstacle course not open. You have a limited # of rides as it is. My daughters were really looking forward to that attraction. #5 The lifeguards are only interested in flirting with each other, and if you need something your bothering them. #6They used to announce when it was close to closing. Like a 30 min 20 min. Nope it was 1 call that they were closed. So then we were rushing to get changed in the bathrooms!! Bottom line it’s a combination of so many things the last few times we have gone. It’s a shame, it really is! Where are the adults to be making the everyday important decisions. Just seems like it’s all about the money. I will be driving to Pirates Cove or Hawaiian Falls...
