Blu Jasmine Thai Kitchen — Restaurant in Hudson Oaks

Best homemade food from a family owned restaurant. It’s hard to keep a warm ambiance in small dining places like this and it’s so easy to feel welcome. I love coming here every day. However, my dilemma is that there’s always ppl who want to spoil simple pleasures like this for others, such as myself. I normally don’t like to put myself in other’s arguments but I feel the need to stand up for the poor staff that happened to be working on the night of December 28th, 2022. The manager warned me in advance over the phone that the wait was going to be extremely long because they were understaffed, I said it was fine and when I arrived, it was just as he said, there was a long line of ppl waiting patiently as they had been instructed beforehand as well and this older woman who I overheard mention her surname was Lamb kept shouting at staff to give her either her food or a refund but staff kept explaining to her that they had no order under that name and she refused to give them any other name. She demanded a refund and she was told once again that they had nothing to refund. This woman then proceeded to verbally harass the front staff and scream her head off and just making a disturbing scene in general and was acted shocked when one of the girls at the counter said they weren’t going to put up with her scene and she felt so personally insulted that her tantrum wasn’t being taken seriously and claimed that the entire staff was disrespecting her and threatened to press charges for fraud and made a racial comment about how “residents” wouldn’t treat her like this. Once she left, the staff received a complaint on DoorDash from a woman named Renee who explained the exact situation and staff figured out that this woman had been misleading them by giving them the wrong name and website. They sent her a refund and an apology and she was still disrespectful. Ma’am, if you happen to stumble upon this review, I was the brown haired lady on your left and I want everyone who sees my message that you were being ridiculous and unfair when all they did was try to help and you treated them like they were stupid for not having an order under a name you did not give them. I’m glad you won’t be coming here again, I consider it a good riddance on behalf of the staff and myself. You should be ashamed of your behavior and grateful that the staff was still willing to even offer you solutions. Privileged people like you who feel threatened for not being everyone’s first priority always spoil nice things for other people who actually enjoy eating here, so I suggest thinking about your actions and I hope you figure yourself out before playing a victim online to seek out empathy from strangers. I would not recommend Blu Jasmine restaurant. From the time my husband and I walked through the door it was a bad experience. We stood for at least 10 minutes before they acknowledged us and then told us to seat ourselves. Our food came out very quick and it was cold. We ordered 2 glasses of wine with our meal, our server brought my wine in a dirty glass with lipstick all over it. I sent it back I watched the manager complain, that I sent it back. I watched the manager take a napkin and wipe the inside of my glass off and returned to me. My husband sent the wine back , his tasted like vinegar and I had the dirty wine glass. When our check came they charged $16 for the 2 glasses of wine. My husband asked the server who looked to be 17 years old serving alcohol, why we would have to pay for 2 glasses of wine that we didn't drink? The server said I'm just doing my job the manager told me put them on your check not to take them off. My husband asked the manager why should we pay for 2 glasses of wine that we didn't drink and the wine glass was dirty?The manager said, that was the rules we could send food back but you can't send back wine that had been opened. I watched him pour the wine out of a bottle that was already opened. I have also been a server for over 25 years and I know that is a false statement!!! We paid the check and paid for the 2 glasses of wine we didn't drink. We told the manager we would never come back again and he said OK. Beware...

I love Thai food and was excited to give this place a try, sadly I left disappointed.

I went for lunch and ordered the lunch pad thai with calamari for an extra charge of $2. The lunch special comes with tea, soup or salad, and egg roll. I got the tea and salad. After waiting a good while for my food (mind you it was not super busy) I began to wonder why it was taking so long to get my food; then one of the employees came to tell me that they messed up my order (did chicken instead of calamari) and they were having to redo it. I finally got it and noticed it only had FOUR pieces of calamari. I asked if this was normal and was told it was (but the dinner comes with more they said). Listen I don’t need my whole meal to be calamari but four small pieces is ridiculous when I’m paying extra for it..$14 and I get four pieces of protein? I also never got the egg roll and had to remind staff about it. They brought one out, which seemed burnt. Don’t know, I didn’t eat it.

The good was that the pad Thai had good flavor and I requested level 8 spicy and they delivered, the reason this isn’t one star.
