Where do I begin?
I just moved to New Hampshire from Texas and needed a new suit for job interviews. I decided I did not want an off the rack suit from Mens Wearhouse or someplace like it, I wanted something better quality. More me. I checked around and decided on Regan Clothiers to make my suit. Things were great in the beginning. Sue was super nice on the phone when making the appointment. Liam was attentive and super friendly while picking everything out and measurements. Explained everything I wanted and explained what I needed it for. My appointment was May 27th. He told it would probably be about 6-7 weeks for my suit to come in but he would try to put a rush on it to get it back in 4. Well, I will admit I got a little impatient waiting on the suit and I check on it a couple of time. Finally on July 8th, I checked on it and was told my suit had been shipped and should be in the following week. Only July 16th I texted Liam to let him know that I had to go out of town unexpectedly and would not be back until the first of August and to let me know when the suit was in. Immediately after I sent that text, he replied back saying the suit was in. No phone call, no text, it took me contacting them to find out. When I got back into town, I went to pick up the suit. The shirts I had made were perfect! The suit is a different story. The pants were 2 inches too short to start with. And the jacket midsection was way too big. I could have fit another half of me in the jacket. I was not upset, I understand things happen. Finally on tAug. 25th I texted Liam asking for the status. I was told the suit is still not ready because the tailor had a last minute wedding to party and he was hoping to get it back next week. I voiced my displeasure with that. I called him out saying I had to contact him just to find out my suit was in. He put all of the blame eon the tailor . Then he got what I feel is some attitude with me and said the suit had come in the afternoon before I texted, he just hadn't opened the box yet. I fond that funny because he texted back a picture of the custom lining I had done and saying the suit was in exactly 1 minute later. Finally yesterday, Aug. 27th I got a text saying my suit was ready. Went the next day to pick it up only for it to still not be right. Pants are still too short and the jacket is still too big. he then told me that I would have to take it to the tailor myself so she could pin it up to make sure the fit is right. That to me is inexcusable! I took the suit because I was tired of wasting my time and gas going there for it to keep being wrong. I will take it to the tailor myself and make sure it is done right!
I am not denying the quality of the suit. It seems to be high quality and very nice. I absolutely love the shirts! Hands down the most comfortable shirts I have ever worn! I love he customer lining and amazed that they could do that. I just think the customer service is lacking and communication is poor. People spend a lot of money to have a suit custom made and that kind of money needs to matched with excellent customer service.
Very disappointed in my experience and will not be going back!
Also, reading through reviews, I noticed their reply to bad reviews is all the same. Seems like it's a script that they copy and paste. Nothing original for...
Read moreHands down, one of the most fun, exciting, informational and convenient purchases I've ever made. Enough so, that it warrants a full review to capture the detail in each step of the process, from initial interaction, building the suit, matching, communications, receiving the suit, altering the suit and showcasing the suit at my wedding.
Initial Interaction: I was referred to Regan Clothiers by a friend when I asked him for recommendations on custom suits. After some research, I sent an email which was responded to expediently. An appointment was set up and in no time, I visited their storefront.
My suit was to be handled by Jack. His service alone warrants a full review. Jack is courteous, professional and patient. From the moment my fiancé and I first walked in I felt comfortable with my decision to choose Regan Clothiers. Their storefront is great: drinks, pool table, lounge, etc. There was a level of respect for us before we even started customizing a suit.
Suit Building: It wasn't until I started this process did I know how much detail goes into a suit. You are actually creating a suit from the ground up! Fabric, color, thread count, cuts, liners, buttons, stitching, styles, patterns; the list goes on. Jack started us off on fabrics and expertly explained the differences between each one. Information was up-front and transparent. He never grew impatient with my questions, never tried to sell me on anything and enthusiastically walked us through all the different options that make a suit so that it was truly custom to my taste and style. He provided professional opinions on features I was unsure about and guided us through the process, showing us examples of similar suit features on product in-house.
Communication: Throughout the process, Jack was quick to communicate updates via email and sometimes phone when I needed to talk about options.
Price: Considering you are buying a suit that is custom-made to your specifications, the price was very fair. I expected to pay a lot more given the time it took to even pick all those suit features. I never exceeded my budget.
Alterations: Suit came in after 4 weeks and during that time, I had chosen a different shoe style. No problem: Jack had me come in with the shoes, measured, took the suit and hand-delivered it to me a week later pressed and steamed. Perfect.
The Suit: Nothing short of incredible. The fit, the feel, the details; exceptional. I've worn a fair amount of different suits in my life and have never received the level of compliments as I have with this suit. Everyone wanted to know where I got it and were taking photos of the lining and how well the pants lay right above the shoe. I'm not kidding! I was the belle of the ball (until the bride arrived).
Given the length of this review, it should be apparent how impressed I am with Regan Clothiers. The dress shirt alone has convinced me to start buying them from them and replacing my closet with their shirts. Best part is, measurements are done so I can just call them up and order what I need without going through the process again. Overall incredible experience, incredible staff, incredible product. I will...
Read moreIf you are planning on buying a suit from Regan Clothiers, I would ask you to please keep reading. We had a very negative experience overall - with no suit or refund by the end of it.
My now-husband paid in full for his wedding suit on the day he got fitted (10 weeks before our wedding). He was told that he’d be followed up with and that the suit would be ready with plenty of time before the wedding. After he tried to contact the company in various ways for weeks leading up to the wedding, we still hadn’t heard any updates (or even had the phone answered when we called) - even NINE days before our wedding. I then took an extra step to contact every member of the family business on every form of social media I could - which resulted in the person my husband was dealing with (Jack) texting me the next day apologizing for handling business the unacceptable way he has been. He said that the suit would not be delivered on time. He asked for my husband’s credit card to issue a refund. Later that day, we hopped on a phone call, Jack was super apologetic, and my husband and I gave him the card number for the refund. We were assured the refund would process in 3-5 business days - and it did not. The night before my wedding I sent Jack a text (since once again there was no luck in calling) asking for an update on the situation, and he replied that he was tied up at a friend’s Bachelor party, but that he’d try to get his brother (who also works for Regan’s) to give an update. We haven’t heard anything from anyone at Regan’s since - even after following up one last time via text to see if he’d correct the situation. After the wedding, my husband filed to dispute the charge for the suit on his credit card - and THAT is how he got his money back.
Luckily my husband had a backup suit (of a different color that he was happy enough with) to wear to our wedding. If you’re looking for a suit, I recommend visiting Indochino in person and working with Patricio! My husband now has a few suits from Patricio at Indochino and is very happy with all of them.
I really thought that a family owned business like Regan Clothiers would take more pride in what they do and ensure that if mistakes are made, that they would be fixed. I’ve gone through all the emotions - nervous, scared, enraged, forgiving, re-enraged, and now just disappointed. I am hoping that with this review I can deter future customers from working with Regan Clothiers and save them from such a...
