Clint Carroll Surf School — Attraction in Huntington Beach

Last weekend concert plans with my 14 year old daughter got unexpectedly derailed when it got cancelled due to the devastating fires going on in Los Angeles. Rather than cancel the weekend trip to Southern California we decided to travel further south away from the fires to Huntington Beach and signed her up for surf lessons with Clint Carroll who comes from family of legendary surf pioneers known throughout the world. The experience did not disappoint. The package deal included a wetsuit, surf board, and a one-on-one instructor who provided a two-hour lesson. Throughout the experience my daughter was able to get up and surf 3 times while learning the steps involved including paddling, popping up on the board, and catching a wave. She is now hooked and already asking about the next time we can come back (hopefully with the whole family). Most importantly the experience helped a broken hearted girl who was looking forward to attending a concert with her favorite bands into finding a new passion for something she now loves and is looking forward to doing again. Clint Carroll surf school is top class. We can’t recommend Nathan and Eva enough! Our boys (7 and 10) were first-time surfers, and thanks to Nathan and Eva’s patient, encouraging, and fun instruction, they were up and surfing quickly, with huge smiles on their faces. Both instructors created a safe, relaxed environment while building the boys’ confidence with clear instructions and constant encouragement. It was amazing to watch them catch wave after wave, and they are now hooked on surfing! We’re so grateful to Nathan and Eva for making their first surf experience so memorable. My almost 6 year old daughter is wrapping up a week of Clint Carroll surf camp And I can, without a doubt, say that this has been one of her favorite weeks of her life! The instructors are super good at making kids feel comfortable And providing them with good instruction to successfully get them surfing. I was a little nervous because my daughter isn’t ocean safe, but can swim great in a pool and because they are one-to-one ratio with the little ones I felt confident that they were going to take care of her , which they did.
