Lake Tahoe - Nevada State Park — Attraction in Incline Village-Crystal Bay

This area of the lake is beautiful but the park is small and our experience there was less than great.

We visited the first week of October, which is between the summer lake season and the winter ski season. We pulled up to the gate to pay the $15 entry fee and I asked the guy in the booth for a park and hiking trail map. He looked behind him and said that they didn't give him any that day. I asked if the visitor center would have them and he said he wasn't sure if the visitor center would be open that day. What? First of all there was a fair amount of traffic in the park, even for off season. Secondly, how does this guy not know whether or not the visitor center is open? Not at all helpful like all staff I have run into at any other state park, in any state, or at a National Park. They were happy to take our money to park in their parking lot but couldn't be bothered to be helpful to the park visitors.

When we drove in and parked we found out the visitor center was locked and it never did open that day.

We enjoyed our time kayaking on the lake and we used the internet to get the information we wanted about hiking trails, but this is the least helpful and least user friendly park I have ever been to across...

My daughter and I just had a Do you like this delightful vacation in Lake Tahoe,we stayed In Truckee Ca.and spent a wonderful time there as well driving around the lake on the Nevada side as well as the California side.So many gorgeous sites from the top of Mt.Rose down to the lake .We went to art festival,we also went hiking,and to put the icing on the cake we took a cruse on a Paddlewheeler . Outstanding 😊The weather was perfect warm during the day in the 80s and the 50s in the evening.
