I had a fairly good experience last Fall, but not so much a few days ago. I scheduled a cut and color, but never got it. The stylist left me a voicemail at 8'ish that morning to tell me she was sick and wouldn't be there for my 10:00. I didn't hear the call come in. When I arrived at the salon I was told that the person I had scheduled with didn't come to work until 10:10, which was a little irritating because we had scheduled a 10:00. When she came in (I thought it was her-- I hadn't met this person before), myself and the lady next to me thought we had been double-booked. The receptionist mentioned me to that stylist, and she said that she "absolutely had not" scheduled an appt with me. It turns out that both stylist's names began with "D", and the receptionist had gotten it wrong. It was then that he realized that the stylist I was supposed to see had called in sick. I've never had this happen, so it didn't cross my mind to be on the lookout for a call of that type. I was really upset that the stylist: a) didn't try calling me again that morning before I left for the salon--there would've been plenty of time to do that; and/or b) didn't leave word at the salon itself for me, so that I would've known right away that my appt was cancelled when I got there. To me that would have been common sense customer service--she must have known that I was at the salon waiting on her, because I didn't return her early-morning call offering to reschedule. So she just assumed I got her message and forgot about it? It wound up taking about an hour of my time before everything became clear, and none of the people involved seemed particularly concerned about that. I certainly won't be returning--salon services are expensive and in my opinion, the amount of money I had planned to spend more than covered the time it would've taken for her to make another short phone call or two. The are other salons that will make a little more effort--they know it keeps people coming back. I'm pleased to say I've found someone else whose work was superior, and at a more...
Read moreVery disappointed in my experience here. I called beforehand and asked if they had someone one staff that was experienced with cutting naturally curly hair. I set up an appointment with who they recommended, and they got me in quickly which was nice. The price was also great. However, she does NOT know how to cut curly hair. After more than one protest from me, she blow dried my hair straight and then flat ironed the whole thing and then cut it. After I told her I didn't want her to do that. That's not cutting curly hair. That's making it straight hair and then cutting it. I have never had someone do that to cut my hair before. Needless to say, when it's curly it's several inches shorter than when straight. Will take months to get to the length I wanted it. I was also in the chair for 2 whole hours just for a cut. Disappointed that my requests were not considered during the process. She did make sure that it was very even, and if you have straight hair she probably does a great job. Just wish she would have...
Read moreThe Salon its self is very beautiful and nicely laid out. Now comes my issue... the lady that did my hair was up there in age. And I had explained to her my nerves due to bad experience getting my hair colored at a salon due to they burnt my head. Well she dyed my hair just 1 color and the dye was on my hair for over an hr and a half took her almost an hr to apply it then set a timer for 30 mins more. And then she cut my hair and didn't really understand the term long layers so I just had her Tltrim the minimum amount. Now I left the salon and load and behold about 30 mins after leaving my whole head and scalp burn and break out. I am not sure what the issue is but I can go to CVS and buy a 10 box of hair dye snd never once have it burn my head. So im not sure of what to make of it. But this was my experience at this salon and I won't be going to...
