Lao Peking Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Independence

I've been ordering from this restaurant for years and years. I was out of their delivery zone for awhile but was so excited to come back about a year and a half ago. But these PEOPLE who work here? Omg they're the best. We order once or twice a month and we always get a few orders of crab rangoon(they literally have the best crab rangoon I've ever tried), some lo mein, fried rice, and some general tsos(they're also one of the only places that will actually make it spicy for me, even though it's supposed to be a spicy dish) and every now and then we'll add some dumplings or egg rolls or something. Well, yesterday, we decided to completely change up our order. I really wanted to try the empress chicken (it was so good, btw) and my guy wanted chow mein. They literally called us after we put in our online order just to check that we didn't make a mistake because it's different from what we usually get. That felt SO GOOD. Like they actually care about us. They're always amazing but that's just taking customer care to the next level. I will be a patron of this establishment as long as they're around. ordered 2 meals each with 1 red cup of sauce like i normally do and when they delivery, i normally tip. Today a very rude person contacted me to tell me that my credit card was declined and that i needed to give a new one. I must of given her another one and she was so rude that she kept asking me for the same number. after finally being able to get the number, she tells me that she's charging me an extra dollar for red sauce. $1 is not a problem but if i were doing 2 separate orders each order comes with sauce so I'm confused on why I have to pay extra. she even confirmed that she had just delivered to my house the other day. Poor customer service and rudeness that after obtaining my business and tips after all these years, I'm going elsewhere. You guys give Chinese food places a bad rep and need to do better. You chose to let go of my $20 order over some sauce and pathetic customer service. Be very ashamed...

I've visited this restaurant about 4 times total. Each time I'm greeted by the lady at the front counter in a less than pleasant unenthused manner. I brushed it off because they are literally located 4 minutes from me and the food started out "ok."During my last two visits, when I asked to substitute one item for another(gladly offering to pay the upcharge) I was met with a roll of the eyes and a heavy sigh. I explained that each time I make this request it's usually fulfilled by HER! She proceeds to go to the kitchen then come back and charge me more than usual on this occasion. After looking at the receipt and noticing this I decided to bite my tongue, and hold my composure as I knew I would not be returning. Got home only to notice that my food was very overcooked.
