Went in today to rent a unit we had reserved online and we were greeted by a guy in regular clothes, no uniform, baseball cap on with his pants hanging off his butt showing his underwear. David told us to go get back in our car and drive back to unit 164 and he would meet us back there. So we drove onto the property with no further instruction and drove around till we could find him and he showed us the unit. As we were driving around we noticed there was mildew and mold growing on the outside of all the buildings. There were rows of ankle deep rotting leaves everywhere along with all kinds of trash. It was actually disgusting to see. After viewing the unit we went back to the office and David hands us an "insurance" form and told us to sign it and didnt say anything else. We told him we had our own homeowners we wanted to use and he became psychically upset. I picked up the insurance display that was on the counter to look at it and David got up and forcefully snatched it out of my hands which upset my husband. David then became even more irate because we still refused the insurance (we even tried to show him proof of our homeowners) so he called his boss who seemed confused as to why he was even calling her. He then snatched up the insurance paper, wrote "DECLINED" on it and literally threw it back at my husband to sign. Appalled over the treatment from the manager my husband let David know he was upset and didnt appreciate the way we were being treated. David then picked up his personal cell phone and told us he was calling the police on us because we wouldn't cooperate with him. We finally left because David would not calm down and work things out professionally. All this fuss because we would not get their insurance was unnecessary and we did not appreciate being threatened with the cops over nothing. Read moreUnit was broken into and it was made extremely difficult to work with the company to get access afterwards due to being out of town.
There is no on-site office or staff and after locks were replaced with the company's, the unit was gained access to without force between the time locks were replaced and I was able to return to town, meaning someone had access either within the company or someone that knew an employee and even more items were missing.
Whether this was done during the time of the locks being replaced or afterwards, I do not know. After both events, staff from another location in charge of this one were unwilling to help or assist with figuring out what happened.
The insurance did not cover any missing items as they had been purchased years ago and no "purchase receipts" were available. I was told there would be a follow-up with the initial break-in and there never was. I was then told to follow the police report and contact IMPD, which was not helpful either.
In addition to this, they proceeded to increase my rent the month following the break-in!! I proceeded to drive across country during my only vacation time and removed all items from the storage unit and immediately canceled the contract.
The cameras here are useless when there are none on the inside of the building.

Read moreHad the storage unit for 10 months. When taking everything out of storage we notice mold on 2/3 beds and box springs, one bed being brand new. We are most likely out over $1,500 in bed cost. We had an inside unit. We had insurance on the unit. When calling and making a claim through the insurance the storage provides they told us unless other units had issues with mold we would not be reimbursed and could possibly receive $250. What exactly is the $250 going to cover when 2 beds are completely ruined. $250 won’t even cover a single one of the king beds completely ruined. Would not recommend anyone go here for the cost and most definitely not pay money for insurance monthly when the insurance WILL NOT cover any damages to your belongings.
