First we came to Astoria, Claudia was our leasing agent and everything she explained to us was absolutely a lie! None of the things she said to us about this place was never existing! Her only concern was to force you to sign the contract immediately and after you’re signed, she would not even remember you! We specifically asked her about the packaging system twice and she lied about that! We always had a problem with our packages and nobody cared about it! If you order heavy stuff you have to go downstairs and pick them all up by yourself. They won’t let anybody to come upstairs and deliver heavy things to you. But, before signing the lease agreement, Claudia told us that they will call you and will deliver your packages to your front door, and a lot of time it didn’t happen. Why do I had to deal with your rude employees every time to get my packages specifically the brown hair guy! We lost many of our packages in this place because some of their employees didn’t do their jobs correctly! Even If we paid extra for the carrier to do the front door delivery. They kept saying because of their resident’s safety they cannot allow anyone to come upstairs. However, homeless people could come! After our first month in Astoria, our car got broken into and Police couldn’t do anything and they just took a report as they said the management of the building is responsible for this incident due to the lack of security. The only thing you can hear from the manager when it comes to problems is just one sentence “ this problem may happen everywhere”! Yes, things may happen but, at least you can improve your management and don’t be worrying about other places! Other places won’t charge you up to $6k and won’t show you fake luxury apartment with some rude front desk staff! There’s no security camera in each floor or parking. There were two times that different homeless guys came all the way to the 12th floor and asked us for money and they were trying to even open our door! This was insane! I never saw such a thing in even a really bad neighborhood. You’d expect at least a minimum safety for the amount you pay to live in this building! They advertise this building as a luxury living apartment, and it didn’t even have a good gym. All machines looked like they were stayed in there from WWII. We’ve had to deal with dog pee or unleashes dogs in the elevator most of the time. Our neighbors were noisy and they’ve been smoking weed all day long! Management doesn’t give a damn about anything. We’ve had an issue with our unit A1205, there was always a dripping water noise in the unit and nobody couldn’t fix that! I felt that they knew the unit was having that problem and they gave it to us anyways! If you’re sensitive to noise, I’d highly recommend to stay away from this place as it’s close to the highway and always there’s noises of cars and motorcycles! We barely slept at night when we lived there. One time, the maintenance guy (Dallas) came to our unit to fix the washer and dryer and he didn’t do his job properly and that caused us with water flood in our unit and it damaged our a lot of stuff. Again, management didn’t do anything and he asked us to file an insurance claim since he knew it was their employees fault! You’ll never see any improvement in any places unless you accept the existing problems and trying to fix them instead of ignoring them. If Claudia would tell us the truth about this place in the beginning، we would never sign the contract! Her lie and lack of professionalism cost us a lot of money to move there and basically pay and suffer everyday for all the problems they created for us. If you really want to provide a good customer service, learn from Lilly, John, Dorian, and specifically Tina. I bet you Astoria will become a better place to live! The only reason I left this feedback is for the future residents to see what Astoria is all about. If you are really concerned about your family and your kid’s safety, do not make the mistake that we made! Trust me if you live in the street, It’d be safer...
Read moreTwo new exceptional staff members have come on board at Astoria who have made, “home,” significantly better. They are the friendly faces that greet me after a long day of work. Aaron and Fidel are part of the late overnight Concierge Staff. Aaron is hospitality to perfection as he is extremely quick to notice if I need help with something or if I am trying to get into the front door but have no hands to open it. Aaron is consistently friendly and represents the type of hospitality that I have been used to since relocating down here from the San Francisco Bay Area where life on the 18th floor apartment was first class in every way. Fidel is incredibly on top of whatever the matters are that occur at the present time. He is efficient, effective, and, like Aaron, he is caring and enormously helpful. One exceptionally late night, I had badly cut myself and wanted to prevent getting stitches (as I just did not have the time to go out and get them). Since my work is in the medical arena, I knew I would need help if I were going to avoid making a trip to the E.R. I had been applying pressure at home for about a half an hour as I had wrapped my hand in multiple blood-soaked towels and had them as contained as best I could before going down to see if Aaron and Fidel could help me.
They were sensational as they put on the medical gloves and helped me with exactly what I needed in order to avoid going to the hospital. I had brought down a large bowl and almost a gallon of peroxide along with several gigantic bandages. As I continued to apply pressure to the cut, gradually I released it and both Aaron and Fidel poured the hydrogen peroxide all over the cut as my hand dangled over the bowl. The two of them were a mighty team as they continued to pour the peroxide over my cut until the bleeding slowed down. Then they used the gauze to tightly wrap it up. All of that was done flawlessly and the last part involved putting the waterproof bandages around the cut. Together, they were a dynamic duo who helped to prevent me from having to take the time to drive to the E.R. and spend 5-6 hours there when I just really did not want to go anywhere except to sleep. The cut healed perfectly, and I was able to remove the bandages in about 10 days.
These two guys are terrific, and I am extremely grateful that they have come on board to work for Astoria during the swing and overnight shifts. Aaron helped professionally assemble a new lamp I had purchased, but did not have the strength to successfully put it together given the height, weight, and awkwardness of the lamp. Given Aaron’s strength and power, he was able to quickly assemble it with supreme expertise. Aaron and Fidel are extraordinary, and I really appreciate each of them. They make my coming home experience warm and wonderful as their friendliness, professionalism and helpfulness are qualities that make Astoria into an astonishing place to...
Read moreThis apartment building is nice, except a specific employee last night his shift was about 9pm, 10pm brown hair male, not necessarily on the fit side and I find his work ethic INCOMPETENT and I find management to be able to easily replace him. I mean this was not the first incident but let me start off by saying last night I was too tired to bring stuff up to my unit and I asked this specific worker with the brown hair and on the thicker side, if he/ someone else can please bring my cart of items upstairs and he did go ahead and gave me the green light. So here I am waiting upstairs the whole night and I had to call someone in the AM to bring my stuff upstairs (which my stuff was not heavy at all simple groceries) and I have tipped one of the fellow employees to bring a package upstairs once. I mean how hard is hospitality in this building? We pay enough money to live here and at least we expect hospitality to thrive. At least so I THOUGHT. I had to call for a different employee to have my stuff brought upstairs and it was no problem for them. Instead, I get to deal with a totally unprofessional, lazy incompetent male who happens to work at Astoria. Another issue I have is that the same employee which thankfully for him I didn’t write a review and now which I am because this is the second time he’s shown complete disregard towards my needs and this time privacy which I will gladly leave a review on here for the sake of future residents and current residents possibly reading this, I had once a visitor trying to deliver an item for me about a month ago about 8am, same male coworker with brown hair, and the visitor has asked if my items could be brought upstairs and still he managed to screw it all up by saying private information about my comings and going’s, which made me as a resident EXTREMELY concerned and uncomfortable for him to think he HAS a say in my whereabouts to a visitor that was just wanting my item delivered upstairs brought to me. I mean seriously what’s the excuse for not bringing a simple item upstairs up the floors, THERE is a elevator!!! Again lazy, incompetent, rude and completely unprofessional. I feel like I want to rip my hair out and blame myself for choosing such mediocre service by choosing this building to live in. I have heard neighbors wanting to move out for other reasons that I won’t mention. Can management at least take a third LOOK at the employees working here I mean how hard is it to bring a cart with simple groceries upstairs??? Apparently it was for the lazy brown haired thicker male working the 9pm shift last night! If Ross was there which he was and when I ask him it’s no issue but his “fellow” employee was completely SUBPAR and disappointing. Failed hospitality and service. Isn’t this supposed to be a FULL...
