I wanted to start out by saying how great my experience was with Hideout! Apart from getting ahold of my physical fitness, I was able to get so many positives throughout so many different aspects of my life. Before working with Hideout, I was pretty de-conditioned and weighed at my maximum. I wouldn’t even think of stepping into a gym because I felt so out of place. From the getgo, the Hideout team listened through my anxieties and helped walk me through the entire thing.
I chose Hideout because I wanted to get comfortable in the gym space and I needed help getting back on track with my weight. I chose to do private over semi-private sessions because I knew I needed the extra attention. It was a bit more costly, but I think it was worth it. I think the semi-private training sessions can have up to 3 clients per trainer per session. It really just depends on your preference, whether you want to work out with friends, how much attention you’ll require, etc.
As I got stronger over time, I noticed changes in my everyday life too. My posture felt more correct, the way I’d better ease myself onto a chair, for example. I started off without being able to do a proper squat to increasing my weight max every week on the squat rack! My mental health really took to the forefront, too. I really looked forward to the sessions! Everyone is so friendly and really wants to see you do your best. One of the most important things for me though was that it’s really a judgment free space. There’s so many people of different ages and starting levels so you don’t feel like you have to be a certain way to fit in. The trainers and staff are pretty personable so it’s has more of a “friends” feel rather than a strict “trainer-client” one. It gives off a really good sense of community.
I spent a little over 6 months with Hideout and I really recommend it! I lost the weight that I wanted to and I have to tools to keep it off long-term. I’m more confident in what I eat and how to navigate nutrition. But most importantly, I feel so much more confident in the gym space. I know WHAT do to and HOW to properly do things. I still have my hiccups every now and then but I can always reach out to the team for any questions. Always a plus!
Some quick pointers! (1) Talk to your trainer about coming in a few minutes early to do your warmup! You’ll get more out of your training session. (2) There’s a water refilling station so bring a re-usable water bottle! (3) For the guys, wear shorts and a short sleeve shirt for your measurement days. It’ll make things easier on you. (4) Be clear with your goals from the beginning, they’ll guide your sessions and progress:)

My back squat has surged to an impressive 170 lbs, my deadlift now stands at a robust 215 lbs, and I've conquered the bench press with a newfound strength of 100 lbs. Beyond the weightlifting achievements, I've witnessed substantial muscle gain and an overall improvement in my health. Read moreStarted back in August when I decided I wanted to get back into working out. Hideout popped up and on its face, had the convenience of being a very local gym, as well as having the guidance of a professionals, which was important to me as I was coming off of a previous MCL tear.
Spoke to Jacob who was very thorough and professional in asking me what my goals were and what incremental steps we could take to work towards my end goal, and definitely showed a professionalism and determination to help me accomplish them. After reviewing, he matched me with Stephen R. as my trainer, who has been nothing but great over the last few months.
Stephen worked slowly but thoroughly in the beginning to establish my baseline, and has pushed me to grow in overall strength, while maintaining great form, mobility, and targeting muscle groups that I definitely neglected in the past. Since August, now in December, I am pretty much back at the peak of where I was at in terms of strength/numbers before my knee injury, and I can confidently say that I feel like I'm growing stronger every week.
Stephen's great because he always knows where you're at in terms of strength, knows to push you when maybe you yourself don't believe/doubt you have that extra rep or two in the tank, but also knows that "life comes first" and that the workouts should compliment/account for what you do in your daily life. Whether it be accounting for something like a hike or trip you have planned, nothing is aimed to restrict, but rather to accommodate and account for what ways would be most beneficial towards the goals established early on.
I can confidently say I'm a satisfied customer of Hideout and encourage others to give it a shot. I had initially thought I was going to be going for a three month stint only, but I'm pretty happy with the program thus far and want to see where I can get to in the future.
