Nice station for students who commute in the US. The station includes a space for transport by train, a space for standing for buses, a building, a restroom and scpaces for cars movement. The building includes magazines, brochures, and also some vending machines to buy water and other things. It would be better if it supports other foods for students except junk food. The station supports different transportation, including train, Uber, lyft, and personal cars. The station has a clean restroom and outdoor furniture. It would be better to locate the signs better. Some of them are unclear, including the board for waiting the train, the place for entering the train. the are not clear Arrows to select train ways. You can use different buses, including the OC bus, and use the OC App to buy a ticket. There are some vending machines that are near the restroom to buy tickets. You can find OC to go to different locations. For instance, by number 86, you can go to the West, Costa Mesa, and East Mission viego. To go to westcliff University, UC Irvine University, you should...
Read moreDo you still have to wait outside in the heat cold for your train…especially the Amtrak Surfliner that is always late on summer weekends. I waited outside for three and a half hours one HOT August day because train was late. Nothing to shade you or keep you from the elements. Otherwise, a beautiful station inside and over (away) from the tracks…QUITE a distance from the actual boarding area. And you better like stairs or elevators…no other way to walk directly from station to your departure platform. This is a phobic’s nightmare! Plan on LOTS of walking if you’re older or disabled. Maybe it wasn’t finished two years ago when I was there but I was tired, handicapped and not prepared for the LONG trek to the tracks! And had NO sunscreen...
Read moreSorry Irvine for being such a centrally located city within Orange County and being somewhat centrally located within Irvine itself I find you lacking.
Pros: large stand along parking structure, pretty secure of leaving your car here, Amtrak and Metrolink station, clean.
Cons: elevator instead of tunnel, nothing around besides the vending machines (compared to proximity to stores like Santa Ana and Tustin), tons of cars left here from commuters
It's actually much closer to travel to John Wayne from Tustin versus Irvine eventhough both are in Irvine.
It really is just mediocre. Tustin has a gas station/convenience store, Santa Ana is within walking distance to downtown and both are closer to...
