@ocfeed follow for things to do in OC! 71 Technology Dr, Irvine, CA 92618 The new Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World is three square acres full of outdoor gear. This store is pretty wild. It’s designed by Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris, who has been referred to as ā€œThe Walt Disney of the Outdoors.ā€ I heard a lot of people saying they felt like they were at Disneyland, in fact - but might be because there were crowds. It is in fact busy, but the line didn’t take any longer than 15 minutes. They’re running it efficiently. The fish tank is 13,000 gallons with approximately 90 native fish. There is something to look at no matter where you are in the store. I believe the waterfall area is modeled after Blackstar canyon, but can only find reference to ā€œa nearby canyon.ā€ We found parking rather easily - there’s a lot of people moving in and out. It’s busy for sure though. I do enjoy that this company participates in conservation efforts. Are you going? Did you go? What do you think? This footage was taken on Saturday March 30th. . . . #basspro #irvine #grandopening #orangecounty #inthenews #wheretogo #whattoeat #familyfriendly #placestogo #waterfeature

Hands down, this place is the worst store I have been to ever. It was EXCRUCIATINGLY painful holding in the frustration from the experience I had just trying to buy a toy.

First, I walk into the store looking for the trick remote control snakes. Saw one that someone else had gotten for Christmas and needed one to give to my grandfather who goes out to the desert all the time and loves pranking people. Unfortunately, after looking around for a good 20 minutes, there were none in the store. And all of the employees said for sure they were all sold out during the Christmas season. Shucks. Understandable. And really the only understandable part of this story. A week passes and I am checking online every day to see when they come back in stock. Finally one day they come back in stock online in this store. I get on the phone to call them and confirm that they are in fact in stock in store. I spend about 20 to 30 minutes on the phone getting hung up on countless times By both the automated system and the people who end up picking up the phone. So I go into the store anyways to pick one up. When I get there I take a look around and cannot find one. So I ask an employee and they pass it on to a different employee who then passes it on to a different employee. Eventually, after about another 20 or 30 minutes, that employee comes back to me and states that they believe they know what happened. Apparently, one was returned because it broke and put back into inventory on accident. Frustrating, but oh well. A couple days later, I see that they come back in stock again. This time I call and actually get a hold of somebody who says that there are definitely over 10 in stock in the store currently. So I rush over Only to find that everything looks identical. They are nowhere to be found. I spend about 15-20 minutes standing at the customer service desk while someone claims to be going to find out where they are. Mind you, every single time that I have gone into the store, I have seen at least 10 to 15 employees standing around talking to each other. A few of them busy, but mostly chatty mcchattersons. This place has more employees than I have ever seen at Walmart, and a quarter of the customers every single time I was in the store, yet it's like pulling teeth to get someone to put any amount of care or effort into actually helping you spend your money. 🤯. The Employee eventually comes back and tells me He looked around the boxes he could see and didn't see them anywhere. I explained to him that though I'm not directly frustrated with him, it has been one of the worst experiences coming to this store three times each time being increasingly more frustrating. He basically said, There's nothing I can do. Very whatever kind of attitude, like, oh well. I felt like the entire time I was there, all three times, The employees cared more about their conversations than helping pay their wages. Worst taste in my mouth from customer service at a huge store. I honestly wouldn't spend your money here. If this is how they are going to treat you over a toy, Do you really think it's going to be much different going to buy a boat from them? I think not. I think they'll take your money and you will get a similar experience when it comes to any issue that might arise. Boooooooo! shame.

Edit: And your cookie cutter response is also very telling. I wish I could give you a zero star. We all know you don't deserve the...

I know that the efficiency of this traditional chain store is very low, but as the only gun store in Irvine, the bluest city, this store's efficiency puts you at risk of hypertensive encephalopathy. It takes you more than two hours to buy a gun when there are almost no customers, and it takes more than two hours to pick up the gun, all of which is based on the premise that all your documents are complete and there are no questions to ask. But it only takes ten minutes at the fastest in an ordinary local gun store. They will check the gun number endlessly, you read it once, he reads it once, one supervisor reads it once, and another supervisor reads it once. At least four or five people have to review your documents in turn. They chat while working, and the customer's time is not important at all. Everyone stares at the computer screen for a long time, typing on the keyboard at the speed of a sloth, and asks you countless tedious questions that you have already filled out. The only advantage of their store is that they have a small number of handguns that are a little cheaper, and the sales tax in Irvine is 7.75, but they charge other strange fees, such as charging for opening the trigger lock for you and charging for safety education. Moreover, as the only gun store in Irvine, which is so blue, it only has bolt action rifles, a lot of old revolvers and particularly bulky 1911 automatic pistols. Their semi-automatic rifles are almost only the 22LR of MP5, which is similar to the lethality of airguns. If you have a lot of time, and you are the kind of person who spends half a day eating chips, drinking Coke and watching TV, and you are very sensitive to the price of some guns and consumption tax. And you have a pair of good legs that can stand for two or three hours, then I would recommend you to come to this store. I can completely imagine the scene of Officer Judy facing the sloth in Crazy Zootopia, especially the speed of their clerks' conversation there, you have the urge to bang your head against the wall. Although the process of turners is also cumbersome and boring, at least the clerks are efficient, but there are more requirements in the store. Finally, I have to say that this is the only bass pro I have seen that needs a separate room to buy bullets. It is indeed a deep blue city. Why is there not so many procedures and time when voting? Is the constitution divided...

This review is completely dedicated to the Firearms Gun counter and the process of acquiring a firearm. Let me first start off by stating Bass Pro is my absolute last resort when it comes to finding an FLL to purchase a firearm from. I’d rather go to any of the other local FLL’s such as Turners , Ammo Bros, Fowler , Rifle Supply , etc. With that out of the way let me say the Staff members at Bass Pro Irvine are nice and processional however I believe the process they have to follow and the way corporate has setup the process for anything related to firearms makes for a terrible experience. They always seem short staffed at the gun counter. The people who work the counter are almost always busy helping someone with a DROS or Pickup which leaves nobody extra around to just help people with general questions or people who want to see optics or Binos. Because of that you will see people standing for literally 15-30 minutes at the counter just waiting to talk to someone. It seems they need 1 or 2 people who are just there to help people handle firearms and optics or Binos. Now on to the process of firearm purchases. You will absolutely spend 2-3 times longer doing a DROS here than you will at any of the FLL’s I listed in the beginning of this review. The DROS process is extremely long and that’s no exaggeration. It will take well over an hour. This is something that management needs to work on. The slow DROS times make the waitlist move at an incredibly slow pace. It doesn’t help either that people who just want to hold a gun with no intention of actually purchasing have to take up space on that waitlist with serious buyers who are trying to actually get a DROS or pickup complete. You absolutely have to schedule an appointment if you want to DROS or pickup at Bass Pro shop and even then good luck starting on time. You will likely start your business late because there will be nobody to help you when your appointment is supposed to begin. As a valued club card member I hope to someday see the firearm purchase process at Bass Pro improve. I’m writing this review 20 minutes past the time my appointment for a firearm pickup was supposed to begin. I know they can do better but it seems they need direction from management or corporate on this one. The blame isn’t on the frontline employee just doing what they have been...
