Bassett Furniture — Local services in Irvine

I have been a longtime customer of Bassett furniture. I have in the past purchased 3 different full sets of living room furniture and this time knowing the quality and service I added a very expensive queen bed set.

Nikki has always been my sales rep during all 3 transactions.

I have to write this review so anyone planning to purchase custom pieces from Irvine location is fully aware of the horror. First and formost please be aware that the majority of their furniture is no longer made in the USA but in Vietnam.

The reason for the one star review is because my order was so delayed and my delivery was passed it's timeline and no one could track where in the delivery stage the pieces were. The only explanation I was given is "a third party handles this for us so we don't know"

Well the deliver happened a few days before Thanksgiving and the delivery men arrived sweaty , very impatient and one tall guy with greasy vinyl gloves on and the other one with bare hands. I specifically asked them not to bring their dolly in and the tall one didn't listen and eventually plopped the rubber wheels and created a dent in my very expensive hardwood floors. I was told by bassett they will file a claim of the floor and send to their 3rd party. The sweaty gloved man and his partner left grease fingerprints that cannot be removed since the material is the forgiving type and hides stains. Bassett offered to vacuum the furniture. As for the grease finger marks on the dining table, Pedro (super nice worker that handles these types of issues) stop by yesterday and baby wipe down the table top. That was their version of customer satisfaction.We ended up removing the center leaf and that helped the overall stain look of it. I am now waiting to hear back from Carol at the Irvine store for a discount on my greasy "brand new "furniture and the damaged hardwood floor.

BUYER BEWARE! First, I have NEVER written a review!!! I purchased a beautiful and expensive Beckham modular with 4 pieces. As the Bassett store was in Irvine, CA, I mistakenly assumed that their furniture was a higher end. I chose a high-end leather for construction of the sofa. We waited weeks for it to arrive only to receive 1 of the 2 end modular pieces with the the wrong back and side cushions. They are sewn with the backs of the cushions (velcro and all) facing us. Also 3 of the 4 seat cushions were poorly constructed. Thet don't sit flat on sofa frame. Just ask the independent tech they sent out to our home detail the issues. And there were many!!! The welting was obviously off on the cushions. Since then, we we told to "Give the cushions a good knee-knocking!" and "We don't refund custom orders." We've had the run-a -round from their customers service to the manager of the store..so we called Synchrony Bank to stop payments on our $10,000 sofa! They say it could take up to 60 days to resolve the issue!!! Bassett obviously does not have quality management either or this would never have happened. I should have looked at their rating before I bought!! Now, the holidays are here and with family in town....we have had no resolve. We have 3 sofas now as we can't get rid of our old one till we have this one taken away. Bassett is more than willing to showcase their perfect representation of the Beckham modular sofa...but to heck with sending the properly sewn cushions!!! Next time, we may just check out Living Spaces or...

I would be wary of shopping here due to the poor customer service we experienced. We came into this store earlier today to get inspiration for a house we are planning to build in another state. Being that it is a furniture store, we thought we were welcome to come in and browse. Within 5 minutes, a sales woman named Nikki came up to us and we told her we were browsing and building in said state, she walks away, and 5 minutes later comes back to tell us that there are no Bassett’s in the area we are building in (this is false, btw, after googling we found multiple Bassett Home Furnishings nearby to where we plan to build). I asked if they had an online shop, she says “Yes, but they won’t deliver to your area.” This is also false. Feeling very unwelcomed, my partner and I quickly left. This experience was unacceptable, it was clear to me that she had some sort of issue with us, and if a store is by appointment only or does not allow browsing then it should be stated on the front door, but telling us that Bassett doesn’t exist in our area and won’t deliver to push us to leave is unacceptable. All in all, I would not recommend...
