Unprofessional staff,terrible costumer service!!!If I could leave negative stars I would!!!To start from the beginning when I was purchasing the laser hair removal treatment I called salon directly on a Groupon add they gave me ‘great deal’ over the phone and I payed 6 full body sessions($700),they sad they will call me to book the appointments as soon as they process my transaction,they didn’t call me I was calling them 3 days in a row to try to get appointment for something I already paid! When I finally got the appointment and went there for my first session at 9am,when I walked in lady that later introduced herself as one of the managers rushed me into treatment sad we don’t have time to go through paperwork they are so busy and booked for a day ,we ll get to that after.They took me into a small room that had a bed and some old looking machine,and the lady that was performing my treatment sad when I asked how long she was doing treatments,that she is usually front desk but that she also does treatments(was very confused that they had receptionist performing treatments with laser).I had several tattoos all over my body and she at the end of the treatment mentioned oh I didn’t know u had tattoos we have to cover them during the treatment with the towel and she cover mine on the stomach but first part she started was my underarms and I have both my sides covered in tattoos and they were not protected while she was doing my underarms.After the treatment my tattoo on my side-boob started burning right away and I called salon,they told me that is normal,that night my tattoo got red and it was very swallow,I put some aloe vera on it,but next morning it started pilling and it looked like keloid scar.I googled that the same laser machine that removes hair also is used to remove tattoos,I called the salon again spoke to the same Menager she sad that she spoke with the girl who performed my treatment and she didn’t go anywhere near my tattoos and that probably all of that is because my skin is sensitive .I went to see a dermatologist and she sad that that part of my skin was directly in contact with laser,I called them again they sad there medical consultant will call me,nobody called back,I called again they sad to send pictures and also told me I signed waiver that they are not responsible,I got very mad because nobody explained anything and I haven’t signed anything or was warned about any of the staff before treatment.Called again several times for refund on the treatments and it has been 2 weeks I didn’t get a call back or a refund. If they comment denying what I say with some bogus excuse, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. Wake up and read all the other low reviews! I swear the high reviews are fake. So, I bought a Groupon for the spa pampering experience for two. You have to submit an appointment request, which they claim they will get back to you in 48 hours. False. After waiting to hear back for days, I called multiple times and have yet to hear back. Finally, after contacting someone and listing the services I had paid for, I was told, "Good luck getting that." This makes no sense, as they are the ones SELLING this Groupon. The woman on the phone told me she would get back to me that Saturday, but I have yet to hear back. I called a few days later and left a voicemail, and after finally submitting a refund and letting them know that, they THEN tried to act like I was the problem. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
PART TWO: I must follow up on this review to respond to the ridiculousness and lies that "Carmen" has stated. First of all, I never asked for a same-day appointment. I just wanted to schedule an appointment period. Second, it was never once brought to my attention that I could not schedule on a Saturday, although I would have been okay with that anyway. In addition, I never rejected a Saturday appointment. I was never offered an appointment to begin with! I do not find my previous review disrespectful, just honest, so other people avoid falling into the same trap I did. That's great if you are the "number one top spa of all of Chicago;" however, it would be nice if you could take some accountability for your unethical actions. I am okay with planning things in advance; however, I was not even given the option to schedule my experience as no one would get back to me when I would call, and when I did speak to someone, I was told that I would not receive the services I paid for with no explanation. I am unsure what you mean by your comment about common sense, but the part about me yelling at you is a complete and utter blatant lie. I calmly stated that I was no longer interested in services as I had already submitted a refund with Groupon. Read moreI WAS DENIED SERVICE from this salon because of a previous yelp review that I wrote! I had a gift certificate with 3 services prepaid for, and I had 1 remaining. When I called to make an appointment for the manicure remaining, I WAS DENIED due to my yelp review from a prior experience. The receptionist placed me on hold, and when she came back on the line she told me to go somewhere else for a manicure!! They obviously go through and make notes by the names of customers who gave poor reviews. I was so thrown back by this. Yelp is meant for your reviews of an establishment, hopefully for the business to grow from. I did not realize I would feel degraded because I gave an honest review. The receptionist is the one who told me not to come back and denied me the service, not even the manager. The owner must tell them to do this. I was told in 24 hours a manager would call me back, which happened maybe 30 hours after. The receptionist was quite rude, but the only nice thing I have to say is the manager, I believe her name may have been Alex, was very nice. They would rather refund my money than have me come in again (in case I give another bad review from what they said). They are worried about their reviews because they are a private business is pretty much what was told to me, and they wouldn't want me to write another bad review. So denying me using my gift certificate would help that cause? I told the manager this could have been handled much different, maybe if I wasn't denied service I could have come in and it could have been a much better experience. Or maybe they could have spoken with me to ask how they can improve, or maybe even apologize. I have never been denied service my entire life. No business should run like this, and make people feel this way.
**Since i know they read the reviews (obviously) since I couldn't come back due to them seeing my past ones, I just don't understand how every negative review on her involves the receptionist.
