I've read some of the other reviews on here and was amazed at how different the experience was for those people compared to what my wife and I had. My wife got me two gift cards for two different rooms here for Christmas. We have completed all the breakout rooms in Louisville and now had to cross the bridge to do a new one. We went today for the first time and did The Bank Heist.

For starters, the building and the materials within were in rough shape. The clues for almost every puzzle were completely irrelevant to the combinations for the locks. Some of the locks are weathered and need to be adjusted multiple times with the same combination before opening. At least 75% of what was in the room was not in play, but we were not advised of this beforehand, which lead to a lot of time being wasted on insignificant details.

When we brought this up to the staff afterward, the worker apologized and said those things should have been brought up to us before starting the room. Then, we spoke to the manager, (the one who took us the room and didn't tell us those things) and her response was, "yeah....?" Like she had no idea why it would matter in an escape room to be told which things are and aren't in play and which locks need to be tampered with to work right. It just was a real letdown.

We love BreakOut in Louisville and Locked In and would highly recommend those for folks looking for a good time. In fact, if anyone wants my second gift card, I will freely give it to you. Fair warning though, I would advise that you then take the gift card and gift it to someone you don't like for their next birthday. Like I said, just a...

I wouldn’t suggest this place if you’re only going for the escape rooms. As someone who does many escape rooms, this was the most disappointing one I’ve been to. It was not as technologically advanced as every other one I’ve been to. They still had cool aspects, but one of the locks wouldn’t unlock with the code. We had to ask if it was the correct code and on a walkie talkie, she confirmed it was and tried to walk us through what we had already been doing. She had to leave the front, come to the room and unlock it (after multiple tries herself). She just let us continue - didn’t offer to add any time even though we were put back multiple minutes from a jammed lock. Symbols around the room that corresponded with other things were handwritten sloppily, so it took even more time to decipher those. The witch’s cabin was such a cool idea, just really wish it was executed better.
