Liberty State Park Playground — Attraction in Jersey City

A large size playground for kids of all ages. It does not have a fence around the playground to keep it separate from the BBQ’s and picnic tables so it can get tricky keeping an eye on your children.

During peak hours the parking lot can get up to a 15 mins+ wait times or even blocked from entering.

There are public restrooms which is always a nice welcome with kids. An ice-cream truck is usually stationed to provide treats(on the expensive side).

We go to this playground at least once a month and best times are before 10:30 or after 4:00 as far as parking goes.

A word of caution when it gets busy some older kids are not quite as friendly going onto the large slide and will shove their way through. Our children have experienced this several times on multiple occasions, unfortunately. Other than that it is a wonderful playground and how can any parent not soak in the views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Verrazano Bridge, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty...

Liberty state park is one of the beautiful parks of New Jersey USA. The place and environment gives immense pleasure and good vibes. The sky way memorial walls represent the dedication and sacrifice of officials and civilians during 9/11 incident, attack on twin towers of World Trade Center of Newyork city on 11th September. The residuals are kept on display in memory of disaster of 11th September. A 20 platformed Railway station built during 18th Century (now abondoned), a state heritage is kept open for public which is under renovation as part of revitalisation of State park. The State park has ferry station to visit Ellis island and Statue of Liberty located in respactive islands. Many ferries move between State park and liberty island for visitors. Fun interactive playground, lots of areas to climb, slide, for various ages. Obstacles courses as well. it is a great playground! I suggest avoiding the playground when it is too hot because there is no where for kids to cool off (like a splash pad). The parking lot is right across so be sure to input 535 freedom way address to arrive there. Otherwise it is a bit of a walk. The reason I removed one star is because there can be rowdy teens sometimes that crowd up the tallest slide and yes they speak foul language or set a bad example; hiding up there to kiss or bully the little kids so be careful and keep an eye on your kid(s).
