A fine dining experience is what we expected but was heavily mislead to believe. A $300 bill with the 20% tip that is mandatory, the prefixed menu, and you have to pay for parking, this is not what I expected. My partner and I have been coming here over the years and up until the name changed to “Maddy Rose”, my expectations have changed with it. My first experience dining here at Liberty house in 2021 for Valentine’s Day surpassed my expectations. They were the definition of a pleasant fine dining experience. Well worth the money for what they provided. The service they offered went above and beyond my expectations. There was not one time I had to ask the waiter because we were well taken care. I will never forget this special experience! However, this past year, Valentine’s Day 2024 at Maddy Rose was a different story. There was no problem with the food but it didn’t really stand out. Our order was taken but after a long wait to receive our food we finished our water and asked for our drinks 3 times, but receive it at the end of our meal. As we were having dinner, I noticed someone walking around in sophisticated attire waiting tables. The servers all had uniform, but this specific person wore a red dress and still went up to every table. She did something that made me regret choosing to dine at this place that I once held to a higher standard. Imagine dining with a crowded room full of people and notice the manager or someone of a higher position go over to every table and have mutual conversation with them, but as they look to you and your table they walk right passed. We continued dinner only to realize they specifically spoke with people of equal sophistication as her such as the table right next to us and spoke with them for 5 minutes. Only until our dinner was over does this person come to our table and ask if we needed anything as she takes away our plates. My partner responds no we’re fine… and she continues to stand there as if we needed to be watched while getting ready to pay for our bill. My blood was boiling at this point. Not a single pleasant conversation came out of this woman’s mouth once she had approached us. It was the most demeaning experience I have ever encountered. After receiving the bill did we then learn the Tip was mandatory and already accounted for. My partner and I were so disappointed with this past experience we will not give this establishment the power to make or break our dining experience again. Unfortunately, they have lost loyal customers and I would not recommend them to anyone. When you go out of your comfort and choose to dine in an establishment it is a horrible thing to have staff make judgments on customers based on appearance. Shame on you Maddy Rose. You should reevaluate those individuals put in higher positions as they make this restaurant look bad. Don’t trust them with your Valentines Day Dinner! There are many other alternatives you won’t get...
Read morePlease let me welcome you to my second Google review ever and one of the worst dining experienced that I've had in years.
There were a number of things that were just straightforwardly bad-to-terrible, so please see them below: Ordered drinks and asked for a dirty martini a little bit dirty, but received a VERY dirty martini. Upon bringing me a new one, they apparently ran out of normal sized glasses, so gave me a baby glass which I needed to refill myself 3x. My wife has a severe tree nut allergy. After the staff was told this, they still brought us raisin bread with walnuts in it. Asked for a Diet Pepsi within 5 minutes of arriving. Had to ask 4 more times before it was delivered 45 minutes into service. Asked for a medium rare New York Strip for my entree. Received one that was medium-well to well. Had to watch my wife eat her dinner before a new steak was brought out 15 minutes later. The steak ($54) was terrible. Drenched in an overly salty au-jois, but the sauce wasn't mentioned on the menu. Who advertises themselves as a chop house and then drenches a $54 steak in sauce? I received one small apology from the manager who offered free dessert. I didn't want dessert. They didn't comp anything, but then explicitly offered to bring out a pistachio cheesecake, which again, would have killed my wife.
Things that went well: The French fries were ok, but also drenched in that terrible au-jois that covered my entire plate.
This is all a shame because the previous owners of this establishment really served great, quality food, and cared a lot about service. Unfortunately, the service is now terrible and the food is mostly what can only be described as bad-to-mediocre wedding food.
Yours truly, Just an average guy who...
Read moreDate surprised me w/ birthday dinner. Very terrible experience
Appetizers we had Meatballs and Cobb salad The meatballs tasted rough and could tell they were microwaved from the freezer. Very bland The salad was the best thing. And that SAYS ALOT
Then the entree We both ordered the filet mignon 20 minutes later the server comes to us to say the filet was sold out. Why not mention that your best item is sold out in a Saturday night beforehand. We ended up settling for the strip steak Which came w/ a side of fries. It was so bad we ended up splitting one order instead of getting our own individual plates. The shrimp looked like it came from the supermarket . The cheap stuff that comes curled and pre cooked. We barely touched any of the food. No comp or anything for wasting our time Now the worst part is the desert I was surprised with their “chocolate cake” with a bday candle on top. I was told happy birthday etc which was cool. As soon as I dug my spoon into the cake the entire cake crumbled and fell apart. Now I have been to plenty of high end restaurants. So I can have a good comparison on what’s good and not. That cake was old and showed signs of expired due to it being hard and cracked. I tried to be positive and thought I can just eat the food we barely touched when I got home. Then to find out they didn’t have any bags. I just got handed Tupperware and told that’s how I should walk. Terrible experience this place needs a full sweep clean house or close down and give that beautiful location to an owner who will take his establishment more serious. Also another weird thing is that the lunch menu has better options than the dinner menu. I wish I would have showed up during lunch, a burger would have...
