Surf City — Restaurant in Jersey City

‼️NOT KID FRIENDLY!!! I was here last night at first I thought was a great place. We were told at the entrance kids allowed till 9 pm. No is there to direct where you sit. We walked around and saw there was an area where kids were playing in the sand and parents were eating. We were able to get a table in this section it was 4:30 pm. Around 7:30 “security” Marcus Wallace tells us we have to move because it’s not for kids. I tell him to get a manager. His response was “I’m not getting nothing” ! I answered ok I’m not moving. I few minutes later he comes back with a manager explains this area is for 21 and over. I was upset because they should have signs or something blocking this area. We weren’t the only ones with kids in this area at the time. As the manager is speaking to us the owner walks by tells us we can be there till 9 pm. I thank him. We proceed to order food.the whole time Marcus Wallace is staing at us with a dead stare making us uncomfortable. 8:56 pm he comes over behind us and starts making a clicking noise with his walker talkie . Mind you we were getting ourselves ready to go. My husband asked him why was he hovering us??. I get up and ask him what is his problem so his professional response was “ I don’t talk I rumble” I asked him again what’s his problem??? Again his response I don’t talk I rumble. I threw my drink in his face. He proceeds to take his shirt off and walk around the fence THROWS ME AND MY 50 y/o mother on the floor in front of my 4 y/o and 6 y/0 daughters they start screaming and he goes straight to attack my husband. Never calls back does try to de escalate the situation. As we get up and try to get the kids I record this mans actions. As I’m recording he again proceed to hit me and my mother in law. At this point we are scared and he is charging at us. While other security are trying to calm him down but he is just ignoring them and charging at my family. I hope this man is fired for not doing his job. Also so he doesn’t get the chance to hurt another family. My mother’s shoulder was dislocated due to him pushing her to the floor. I brought my husband here on a Sunday afternoon for his 40th birthday with our kids (23&17). We had been here earlier in the summer and it was nice. When we got there I asked the host if they had cakes and explained it was my husbands 40 th birthday ( I had the candles and gifts in my bag). The hostess said they would let our server know, there was some confusion on self service and having a server when we first sat down …..no big deal right…we’ll let’s say the sever was annoyed. He did bring out the starters quick and we asked to place our order. 30 mins later the food came out and we noticed that he forgot one of the kids order. We waited and waited but the server never stop back in to check on us. I had to get up and ask him for the order, I went to the restroom got a drink at the bar returned to my table still no food. Everyone was done eating at this point and still no food (35 mins after our food was delivered 15mins after I got up to inquire about the food ), I had to get up again and ask him for the food. He said it was on the way and we wouldn’t be charged for the item. ANOTHER 20mins went by and I was PISSSED by this point the drink I ordered was HORRIBLE and still no food or update from the serve. I went to return the drink and pay the bill so we could leave. The bartender apologized for the drink and could tell I wasn’t happy. Long story short, the manager brought the server over to me (which I didn’t understand, I didn’t ask or need to speak to him. If she felt the need to speak to him about the situation she could do it as his manager not bringing him to me for a confrontation?!?) he proceeded to ask me to follow him into the back corner of the bar (a little uncomfortable but I’m a G) and say “baby…what’s the problem I told you it would be free” a few choice words from my end then “baby…I don’t understand what the problem is”….. I give him my card paid and when I got back to the table the burger was there and cold…it had been in the window for more then 45 mins, it was ready with the order the server never went to pick it up!
