Betty Basler Field — Attraction in Johnson City

Nice venue, with good views for softball games. They do not have any kind of press box though, so the ESPN+ announcer sits at a random table in the middle of the crowd. The team’s social media and live streaming is inconsistent and not very active. There are many DII schools that put a better product together, and even high schools that do it better. Information on the student athletes is often outdated if available at all online (bios, stats, etc). Betty Basler Field at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) is a beautiful field and stadium complex. Great seating, a nice concession stand, and clean restrooms. All the staff were friendly and courteous. My only caveat to anyone attending a game is to avoid parking in the lot directly behind the centerfield/scoreboard area. Well designed small college softball field. Plenty of bleacher seats behind home plate. Parking lot could stand to be a little bigger, though. The mountain view behind the outfield is beautiful!
