If you want the BEST Gone with the Wind gift shop, and tour, and the most AMAZING hospitality— be looking for this sign!! Yesterday I made the mistake (horrible mistake) of going to what google called the ‘Gone with the Wind’ museum— which what I thought I was looking for, but what I WANTED was the “Road to Tara” museum!!! It’s the visitors center for Jonesboro and HANDS DOWN, the BEST gift shop for things Georgia and specifically has treasures the “Gone with the Wind” museum WISHES it had. I was SUPER disappointed yesterday, when I ended up in Marietta, Georgia; the REAL place to be is Jonesboro. The tour bus, the gift shop, the PEOPLE that work at the gift shop, the stores on the street, by the train depot... don’t drive to Marietta!! Drive to Jonesboro, take the bus tour, buy great stuff @ the gift shop, and also the little art galleries and shops on the street, then go to Sonny’s for bbq, and eat!! You will think you died and went to heaven! You will never be hungry again! UNLESS you want to do it all over again tomorrow!! I could spend another day like today, everyday!! Made up for all my disappointments I had yesterday, after going to the wrong place!!...

It nicely describes the characters in the novel, the actors and actresses who played them, how the movie was filmed, the story line, backstories and the history of the period and how GWTW fits within it. There are also numerous artifacts from the movie and the area.
The entrance fee was modest - $6/person (senior rate). If you like the movie “Gone With the Wind,” you’ll...
