Joplin is a city of parks and this one is the former location of Mercy Hospital that was rebuilt along I-44. The park was donated to the city in 2015.

The park is the home of the Rotary Clubs of Joplin Sculpture Garden and we spent a bit of time walking through the park to see some of the sculptures. It was a bit too cold this afternoon to do the full tour but we saw several including Rabbit Reach, Joyful Empowerment and House Sitter.

There is a lot of parking and the walkways are smooth and easy for...

Such a gorgeous place to walk…Mercy Park. The pond, fountains, trees, flowers, grasses and art sculptures provide the heart piercing beauty while a tall flight of stairs to a pavilion overlooking the park provides the extra workout I need to get my heart rate up. It’s perfect.

And it inspires me every time I walk there. Once the site of St John’s Hospital, that was destroyed in Joplin’s 2011 EF5 tornado, it continues to offer healing to those who...

This is a gorgeous park for walking in Joplin. The sculptures, plants, and scenery make for a quiet and refreshing experience whether you are taking a family walk, exercising, walking your dog, etc. There isn't much foot traffic here for how central of a location it is, so I like to think of it as a bit of a hidden gem for the locals.

It is a pretty chill park, nothing of out of this world. It’s feel welcomed, and it’s meaningful. Take your time relax and enjoy the story and view the vibe and statues. I see it all to sit relax to jog to fish and walk around. It’s not huge but it’s worth. Picture perfect selfies status. Across the street there is a park for kids also a summer small theme park. You can also cross the street to the Walmart supermarket and grab snacks and picnic out.

It was breezy the whole time I was there, and you still can see a clear path where that tornado tore through the town. Kinda a Erie felling. Needless to say beautiful place, and I'm happy that Joplin left a piece of it charm with me, and I left a piece of my charm there as well. Thanks Joplin for your hospitality!!
