Barry Platte Park — Attraction in Kansas City

This is an awesome park located just a few minutes from 169 & Barry Road! My husband and I were looking for a new place to walk and stumbled upon this hidden gem. The park includes the following amenities (per their website):

18 Acres 0.80 Miles Asphalt Trail 2 Shelters (main shelter has electricity & water) 20 Picnic Tables 3 Playgrounds 2 Sand Volleyball Courts 1 Ball Field (w/ electrical outlet for pitching machines) ADA Accessible 40 Parking Spaces @ Main Park 9 Parking Spaces @ Annex Park

In addition to those things, when we visited there was a fruit orchard and a community vegetable garden where they encourage you to harvest or work, if you can! Barry Platte Park is a park jewel in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri. It offers a variety of sports activities for all ages, such as baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball. The park also has three playgrounds, a walking trail and a gazebo for relaxing and enjoying the nature. The park is well-maintained and has picnic shelters, restrooms and parking spaces for visitors. This is a nice park. There is only one portable toilet and that’s pretty gross. There are swings and two separate medium sized playground equipment areas for kids as well.
