Beautiful home turned into an orphanage. The tour was an hour with lots of information about the house, the sisters that took it over and turned it into an orphanage, and the immigrants that lived in the area. Great place to check out to better understand KCs history starting in the late 1800s and vital role that immigrants played. House was beautiful and well kept. The tour was an hour and we purchased tickets in advance which was reasonably priced. In the tour there were 7 people total which seemed comfortable size of a group given some of the rooms and hallways are tight/smaller. The tour guides are all volunteers and you can tell they deeply care for the property, history, and region. Highly recommend!

Truly a great place to visit. Loved learning about KC history and our multi-heritage culture. The tour was awesome and I wish I could have taken some photos to tease you into visiting But no photos are allowed. They did allow us to take a group photo in the chapel and with the Christmas decorations it made one of my favorite pictures of the holidays.

Go for the decorations, stay for the history. The Strawberry Hill Museum and Cultural Center offers tours through the former St. John’s Orphanage. Tour guides are local volunteers whose northwestern European families settled the area. Photography is not allowed in the museum, but trust me, every room is incredible.

The Olds World Christmas Tour was wonderful!! The Victorian Mansion is all dressed up for Christmas, and The Olde World Christmas Tour at the Strawberry Hill Museum was wonderful! Th! The night time Christmas tour was illuminated with Victorian oil lamps and Christmas lights, and was truly magical! Dave, and his amazing staff of volunteers, truly added to the interesting history and wonderful stories of the Strawberry Hill neighborhood. The numerous, and beautiful nativity sets in the Chapel really added to the Christmas spirit. Thank you for a truly memorable evening, that included wine, cheese...

Enjoyed the tour we went on that explained the complex history of the house and some of its unique and beautiful architectural features. Since the house was once an orphanage run by Catholic nuns and the neighborhood was originally settled primarily by settlers from Eastern Europe, many of the artifacts and rooms are religious and ethnic in nature - especially interesting if you are Catholic or your own origins are from Europe. The volunteer staff was very friendly and love it when people visit the museum. They really put their hearts and souls into making it a special and unique...
