I am giving them 1star for many reasons. Reason 1, they never return a call, not completely true as I have been called back twice in the year's I have lived here ... what is that 1%? I have a current problem with a crack in the street that is so bad that every time a semi truck drives over it it shakes the whole house. The guy with oversight called 1 time promising to try to fix the problem, but still no fix in sight. Of course no return call. Guess I was lucky to have gotten a call back in the first place. I think their phone system is hooked up to a black hole ( which would explain no return phone calls). Which reminds me, why would you leave your phone system on for a holiday. If you're not there, just say so. Reason 2, one of the highest taxes in the state. I could keep on going, but you get the idea. I have an idea for you Unified Government, why don't you buy my house, and then you can rent it out, or turn it into a park. 08/22/29 I am not sure if what was done was for my benefit or not. Bpu dug up part of the street in a couple of places. This did resolve for the most part the problem I was having. Every once in a while I still get a semi truck go by the house that gives it a little shake, but nothing like it was. Changed my rating and gave them a star. Now come and set up storm sewer drains so my yard does not flood every time we get a big rain. The house across the street has them, but the city stopped short of doing anything on my side of the street. That way you will not need to put more support wires on the electric poles in my yard. One day it will all give and all the business on the other side of the street will be without power. 09/07/23, every time I turn around bpu comes along, and whacks the heck out of my trees. Their response is “We have an easement”. Apparently that gives them the right to excessively trim my trees. Hey guys, my oak tree does not grow fast enough that it needs to be trimmed every year! 09/22/23, Looks like it is time to move. With taxes going through the roof it really makes me wish I had bought a home elsewhere to begin with. 11/18/24, No change here, except that I noticed that they were asking for a new tax at the last time I voted. Now you would think with the windfall from home taxes, that they wouldn’t need for additional tax...

The most inept municipality in the Greater Kansas City area, bar none! I'm a former resident now residing in a neighboring county but my adult children continue to live in my house there. My son purchased a used car so we went on line to ascertain the current registration process. Nowhere on the website is it mentioned that you must have a scheduled appointment in order to complete this type of transaction. My son had taken the morning off to complete this task. His missed time and was inconvenienced. This could've been prevented with a simple website update but apparently citizen inconvenience remains a non-issue for this city. When we arrived a kind officer informed us that we were not allowed into the courthouse unless we had an appointment and pointed out to us a posted notice that included this new rule and a weblink to schedule an appointment. Here's the best part, appointments were booked out to June 17th, a full 22 days from today. We went back to the website to see if there was any information regarding what steps we could take ameliorate this while we waited for an upcoming appointment. There was nothing listed so we called and remained on hold for 45 minutes before we encountered a system error that informed us that our call was ending. So we filled out an application to drop the title work off, hit submit, the application closed with no way to print and as yet no subsequent confirmation email. It bears repeating how inept...

LMFAO!!!! Anyone who gave them 5 stars either works for them or has never lived in there county they worried more about righting people tickets and keeping them in legal trouble than fixing the streets or helping the homeless and this really shines through dealing with there law enforcement I've never seen so much corruption dont believe me just go to the county court house there no were to park outside because it's so filled up and this is everyday they open plus Court is nothing but a joke you get no chance to defend any allegations against you it's your guilty and heres what's going to happen your going to pay us and maybe have you jump through some hoops cant wait for the citizens to rise up against them because when they do county officials heads will be on sticks when...
