This is, hands down (literally), the BEST spot on Kauai to get your nails done! I've been to the other shops that are well known and no one can do acrylics, gel polish, regular manicures, and pedicures like the artists at this salon. Tina is INCREDIBLY talented! I live in Kauai but have spent the better part of the last year in New York for my son's school. I've tried to get my nails done there but absolutely NO ONE can do nails as well as Tina! Joe is the owner and he's kind and considerate, is clearly in charge but makes customers feel like they're the priority, as it should be. I always feel at home there. I've had other artists there do my pedicures and have always been delighted with their work but only Tina does my fingernails! There's another shop on island that is known for its poor hygiene practices. This is NOT that salon! If you're on the West Side or South Shore, make the trek to Kapa'a to get your nails done. It's worth the time and effort, believe me! (And here's an important hint: even if you're getting acrylics, get the gel polish. It looks better and dries immediately. For that matter, get gel for your toes, too. The polish lasts...
Read moreI went in yesterday for a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was definitely lack luster, the water was scalding and when I told the lady doing my pedicure she switched it to cold. No in between and didn't ask how I wanted the water. She was on her phone watching a video the whole time. The massage was her lightly touching my legs while she watched her phone. All that was whatever. My major reason for giving one star is because of my manicure. I got my acrylic and tips removed then did a full acrylic set with design and matte polish. It peeled on 5 of my 10 nails. No big deal right, I'll just have them fix it. I went in and they told me they'd fix it after the girl in the chair. I waited 45 minutes and a girl who came in after me was seated before me! I wish she'd told me that 45 minutes ago when she said she'd take me after the girl in her chair. It's just a bad practice. She should have fixed my nails (or dobe the job right the first time!) Before starting on a different client. Go to Professionail in lihue, way better quality and care....
Read moreI have travelled all over the world & been having beauty treatments (waxing, nails, facials) for the past 20 years of my life. I have high standards as I think we have a right to receive quality service. Beauty treatments are not a necessity, they are a luxury so as women we often save up our hard-earned money & decide to treat ourselves. This is not the place to go. I wasn't asked if I wanted my nails cut, or what shape I wanted them filed into. The staff were arguing about the wrong price being on the board (this entire conversation made no logical sense) & were completely unaware that this is an inappropriate way to behave in front of customers who are paying to be there & relax. I got up and walked out (very nicely & sharing my reasons for doing so). Do yourself a favour, spend an extra $20 & go somewhere nicer. I never write reviews, but felt that I needed to share this experience & hopefully save others from making the same mistake I did in booking an...
