Nawiliwili Harbor is a manmade port, dredged from naturally formed Nawiliwili Bay. Harbor facilities include three piers providing over 1,800 feet of berthing space. Specifically, Piers 1 and 2 total 1,214 feet long with a depth of 35 feet at pier side. Pier 3, completed in 1994, is 625 feet long and contains over 16 acres of paved yard. The harbor basin is 1,540 feet wide by 1,950 feet long and is protected by a rock-faced jetty and a 2,150 foot long breakwater. The entrance channel is 600 feet wide and 2,400 feet long with a controlling depth of 40 feet. Cruise ships use this harbor as their port-of-call. It is located at the mouth of the Hule'ia Stream which creates a natural channel for the large ships. This harbor and nearby Niumalu Beach Park were pictured in the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark.
