Aloha Liege Waffles & Espresso — Restaurant in Kauai

I'm not a waffle or a sweet things person so was initially hesitant to try this place out for breakfast, but the 5 star reviews had me curious and it looked like a solid coffee place.

My husband and I got a coffee - he got a latte iced and I got a hot OHT (on Hawaii time). The coffees were awesome! Beat coffee drink I've had since arriving last week. Thoughtfully made espresso drinks that sound sweet but aren't overwhelming by any means. Just enough sweet, just enough flavor. Perfect!

We ordered 1/2 Leprechaun and 1/2 Mac Daddy for the waffle. Again, we were so impressed. The waffle itself was flavorful, crispy and soft just how you want a waffle to be. The flavors were mostly natural, with the banana, strawberry, and macadamia nuts, with just the right amount of sweet to make it an indulgence without feeling guilty! The whip cream is obviously home made, so fluffy and fresh.

My rating is based on second visit and not the food. Stopped here twice while staying at the Royal Sonesta. First time we ordered and had a short wait, the waffles were very good and the service was good and the staff was friendly. The second time we stopped we just wanted coffee and were told we would have to wait 20 minutes. The man waiting on us seemed a bit stressed because he was busy. When I expressed surprise that we would have to wait 20 minutes for just regular coffee he made some comments and as we walked away, he said that I didn't have to be rude. I was surprised not rude and based on his remarks I will never stop again. I guess good help is...

I can't believe I waited so long to post a review. I love this place. The waffles are so good. I have had a few different ones and usually have to debate with myself for a while because everyone I have had is good. PLUS- they do a very easy custom waffle set up for you if you want. Fruit and fruit syrups; different sauces like chocolate, pog, cookie butter, etc; different whipped creams... they just do it right!
