I had the bbq sampler plate and it was not good.
The ribs were super tough. Like, REALLY tough. The teriyaki beef was also super tough. The meat is about as thin as a piece of paper. The chicken was also pounded super thin but was probably the only thing I enjoyed. Two scoops of bland white rice as a side is a kick in the nuts. The macaroni salad was decent but you get about two bites worth. It felt like I was eating from a terrible Chinese buffet, that’s what it reminded me of the most, but I’m certain the local buffet back at home is putting out better food.
The burger my son had was a soggy mess.
The fries were fine.
The sesame ball was not cooked thru and was a ball of raw dough.
Way too expensive for gas station...
Read moreBeing from Washington State, we've got a close relationship with quite a bit of Hawaiian cuisine - but this, this was another level.
Had the Kalua Pork with minor alterations and my partner got the full stack. The pork was delicious and crispy, and the rice was perfect. Not a huge cabbage fan, but they season it so well, and it compliments the pork perfectly. Macaroni was pretty delicious as well.
The portions are quite filling, more than I expected, and they were extremely courteous with menu alterations.
It's a food truck so seating is minimal with shade and outside with chickens amuck - but that's the island, zero complaints.
Will definitely try to come back...
Read moreI am beyond obsessed with Kauai B&BBQ. This is the tastiest, most affordable food in the area. Truly better than everything at our hotel steps away. Me and my wife ate here 4 times on our vacation. The only complaint I have is that they are closed on Sundays. It is Sunday as I write this review from beach outside of the Marriott. I am saddened by this news. Thought I was going to get to have my bento box one last time Before my departure tomorrow morning. I suppose it just wasn’t in the cards. I love KB&BBQ. I miss you dearly. And I have not even left yet.
Love...
