This place is fabulous! If you or child are in to any type of superhero, action figure, old skool Star Wars, legos, random nostalgic memorabilia and toys (they had an old Raggedy Ann doll and a Cabbage Patch Kid both still in their box/wrapping but not in perfect condition which-I assume-made them completely affordable and, in my opinion, something so meaningful and buyable without feeling like you couldn’t touch them w/o having to worry about devaluation. (I could be wrong about the value of these dolls in particular to the majority but for me they were amazing… haha) My 6yr old grandson wanted to show me this place as it’s his “favorite store” and I had no idea what to expect. But I was intrigued the second we stepped inside! For example, he is obsessed with the Ninja Turtles…there was every type of Ninja Turtle toy, action figure, their vehicles, their “enemies?!”, their “other good peoples”, a couple of random back packs/bags, posters, movies… just any and everything old and new with regards to the Ninja Turtles. There are new (and old) expensive collectibles and there are gently used very very affordable action figures for every day play and then everything in between! But. Actually, this is pretty much the truth for every type of action figure/superhero/sci-fi/WWF collection you can think of! PLUS some random music/band/Hollywood type items. Just keep in mind this is very much a previously owned and or collected inventory of goods but everything was so clean and well maintained and well organized!! Albeit there was a ton of inventory new and in original boxes too! Also, there’s an amazing collection of extremely authentic and high quality Halloween type masks and such that should be mentioned as well!! Finally, there are tons and tons of dvds, movies, old comics TONNNNS, and books/magazines!!! Everything in the store was so very reasonably priced. My grandson chose some type of superhero big mechanical hand and forearm type unit that fitted over his own hand and arm and made tons of lights and sounds… lol (Gigi’s not much of a tv/movie watcher…) but he loved this toy… it was new in a box still and was marked $23…. I chose a few small items (old band stickers..) at the front counter while we were wrapping up our visit and the guy working was very helpful and super cool but as we set our choices on the counter to pay, he simply said “umm $20 is all I need!” What a way cool very nice place to shop!!! I recommend everyone check it out because you’ll be surprised at the number of items you find interesting and...
Read moreThis is easily the worst toy store in the Dayton area, not sure how they have remained open this long. Their prices are actually insane to the point where I think they just make stuff up. They have a solid comic selection but I would be surprised if they ever sell a single one. I didn't find a single issue under $4-5. Their boxes are full of dollar bin issues priced 5x their going price. Imagine flipping through rows of West Coast Avengers all mid grade for $5 a piece. Their organization is atrocious as well. You'll find the same figure loose in 3 different places in the store with 3 different prices and then a sealed one cheaper than the loose ones. They have a cool deal of buy 2 Marvel legends get 1 free but that doesn't help when every figure is priced 3x higher than they are on Ebay. Was told graphic novels were half off cover price and brought 2 up to the counter that were marked $4.95 a piece and guy said. "How's $8 sound?". Sounds like that's not half off. Have overheard them being incredibly rude to people wanting to sell things after they leave which is crazy inappropriate with customers in the store. They are super shady with these people too where they won't make an offer on anything until the person selling tells them how much they are hoping to get from it. At that point they either accept it if its lower than they were thinking or if its higher they make fun of the person afterwards for expecting too much money. There are other great toy stores in the area that deserve your business much more than this place. It very clearly needs new ownership. They have more inventory than they have room to display it so there are just mountains of stuff everywhere making it crazy hard to look at anything. They seem open to negotiating prices but it feels bad taking 5 figures to the counter and saying "Hey these are all less than $10 online and you guys have $20-25 on all of them. Saw one figure they had in their glass case for $50 and then found it again laying in a pile of loose figures for $12, how does that...
Read moreBiggest issue was the store at least during my visit was an absolute disaster. Transformers glass case had 5+ boxes of comics sitting in front of it blocking the view of most of the figures. There was also a stack of outgoing ebay packages stacked on and around it. At least 50% of the figures had fallen over or toppled into each other making it nearly impossible to actually look in the case. I felt like I was climbing over things the entire time. The prices were way higher than they should have been. We were noticing figures that were missing 5-6 parts marked at the same price as the complete figure on ebay. Went to the counter to ask to buy a few transformers from the case and was advised another employee would get them out for me and the first words out of that employees mouth were "I dont know anything about Transformers". It feels like they have more inventory than they know what to do with and with prices like...
