I am just not sure HOW they are so busy. It's not that the coffee is bad because it was good. It's that their entire setup, parking, communication and everything else is poorly thought out. I know I have a 30-year restaurant background and owned a fine dining restaurant for 10 years where the expectations were extremely high but I didn't see much about this place that even indicated that they really care about their customers.
Where do I start? I'll start with parking since that was my first impression. Every single spot was filled and they only have like six or seven. Street parking was also completely full with no other options. How does that work? I was meeting someone so I found a spot and walked.
You walk in and there is no sign telling you where to order or where to pick up, even the staff didn't direct us, she just stood there staring at me. When I finally figured it out I approached and provided my order. The baked goods, that I thought they were known for was just a very small case between the wall and where you place your order. It was practically empty at 10:00 in the morning.. I got the last lemon scone and while it was a little dry it was tasty.
The available coffee drinks were on a sign maybe 18 by 24 on the perpendicular wall from where you faced to pay. And as I stood there I realized behind them was at least a 15x10-ft beautiful space where they should have put all of their offerings.
I could barely hear the employee that took our order and I suggested she speak up, she gave me a dirty look and never changed her volume.
As I waited for my coffee I noticed one small menu stuck against the wall at the pickup station. No one ever mentioned they had sandwiches or food and there was no indication anywhere that that was true, except this afterthought of a menu.
Every table, and there aren't many, was full so we sat outside. Unfortunately there was only one table in the shade and it was blaring hot. So we made do.
Except for the parking and adding tables although they could get a couple more seats in there, it would be so easy to make this place a warm welcoming location that makes it clear they appreciate their customers and want their experience to be as easy as possible. I'll just have to assume they don't care after all they're beginning their third year at this location so being new is not the reason for these oversights.
I'm happy to consult if the owners or manager wants to...
Read moreGenerally I have a good experience here, but not this time. I pulled up to the speaker and was met with “I’ll be right with you.” Well, after nearly 10 minutes I got “have you ordered yet?” I said no, and proceeded with my order, A matcha latte with macadamia milk and avocado toast add bacon. I get to the window, and see a regular latte sitting there and ask if that is the matcha latte because it should be green. The girl looks at me and asks if I ordered matcha. I said yes. She then proceeds to try to pass this other latte to me through the window. I decline and repeat my entire order to her. After a few minutes, I was given a matcha latte and a box containing the avocado toast. I proceed on my way and when I open my box, the toast has no bacon on it. So, I’m not sure if the girl that was taking orders just doesn’t listen and pay attention or if she can’t ring orders in properly, but if she can’t handle the drive through she may need to be placed in a different position. Very disappointed in both the service and the food I received as both items were...
Read moreI would give 3.5 stars here if possible. Easy to order, you just walk up to the counter and they have their different menus. Good sandwich selection and a small variety of what looked like homemade pastries and baked goods. I would describe myself as an intermediate coffee drinker. I can definitely tell good coffee from bad coffee, and I appreciate a good espresso. That said, I wasn’t super impressed with the coffee here. I got a caramel cappuccino and my husband got a cortado. Both coffees had a very lemony/sour aftertaste, which we didn’t really like. Very pretty cream design as can be seen in photos. The chipotle bacon sandwiches we got were fantastic though! Honestly, they were the stars of the morning. The baristas were also very kind and helpful. The shop itself has a modern, industrial vibe with lots of light. Chill atmosphere, but limited seating. Reasonable prices...
