I was disappointed when I visited Far Beach. I'm wondering how it can get the rating that it has. The sand is thin, more like a park that had some sand sprinkled on it. The water was clear but only sand bottom for about 10 yards then seaweed and other debris. The beach is only about 50 yards wide if that. I was expecting a beach like I would see along any coast..with the beach area so small it's crowded if you have a few dozen people. Read moreThe actual beach was swampy and did not look like an actual beach. The smush of the seaweed was all on the shoreline. We decided to walk north of the parking lot where the water was a bit cleaner but make sure to use sandals to walk on the sand since this is not an actual beach as the rocks will hurt was you walk. We visited on a partly rainy day so there weren't a lot of other people. We were there specifically to snorkel and we had a lot of fun hovering near the mangrove roots and looking for wildlife.
