Oh my gosh! This was so cool. Michael William Suhar of Cyber-Line and I went here just to check the place out. I really loved the projection of a face on a pillow that talked. That was the coolest thing I have ever seen. I REALLY regret not taking video of it! My only disappointment is it was so quick. (That's why I didn't give it a full 5 stars.) The tour was over before you knew it. But this was in Nov of 2020 so it may have expanded by then. I have never been in any museum this cool. Michael uses a cane to get around and I just wanted to share for those that may be disabled, you can get around the place. I don't think you could though if you were in a wheelchair. I also wish I would of purchased a t-shirt had they had them. I like to buy t-shirts of locations I go. But we both enjoyed ourselves and Mick said he too was impressed by the way they projected the faces. One was getting a shave and he couldn't get over that lol. So if you go make sure you have space in your phone for photos and videos. I certainly think kids...
Read moreI actually visited this place with a friend who had previously worked here, and so I got a more behind-the-scenes at how this works. This museum is incredible and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the history of the oil riggings in East Texas. They have thousands, if not tens of thousands, of artifacts from the past hundred or so years that give an immersive look into what it was like in that time period. They have interactive exhibits, such as an elevator that "takes you down into the earth" and explains each layer of earth and how the oil is pulled out. They also have a small "town," with artifacts in each building, and explanation for all of it. They even have a free newspaper in the style of that time period! All in all, an amazing experience for a low cost, and I would...
Read moreWay better than I expected! Pricing was under $40 for 4 adults and a child, the museum was a really good size and had lots of activities/interactive things to do. Very clean and the staff were above and beyond friendly. Gift shop was reasonably priced.
This museum tells the history/story of the east texas oil boom and lets you walk around in a recreated version of a town during that time period. You can tell a lot of work & care went into this museum.
There's a really cool elevator puppet show, lots of shops to walk in and out on your own to discover. There's also a neat little movie theater that actually has showing times for a movie about the oil boom. I...
