This is not a good Sonic. Their food is hit or miss. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it isn't. The service is usually bad, save for one woman who's usually there in the morning/afternoon - I believe her name is Danielle. She's always friendly and helpful. Everyone else that I've encountered has either been rude, unhelpful, or they were just playing around and not paying me any mind. I work for doordash and coming here for an order is almost always a pain because the workers act like you're troubling them by being there. They take forever to get the order out to you. In my experience it's because they are playing around with each other and not doing their job. As a dasher, I have time limits for how long I can wait for an order and it can affect my rating when the restaurant takes too long. Today I couldn't get any assistance at the drive thru, I was blatantly ignored. When I pulled into a stall they answered and said the order would be right out, and then proceeded to not bring the order out. They weren't busy either, I imagine because this particular location is a joke and other customers have had similar experiences. The stores get doordash orders long before I arrive and have plenty of time to prepare them before I get there. I'm just there to pick it up, so it's not like I'm causing them any trouble by being there. I don't even mind waiting a little bit if the restaurant is busy. Still, I've been given ugly looks and treated poorly as if I'm causing a problem by just being there. I've reported this location to doordash about these experiences, so thankfully my score on doordash is not affected and other dashers will be notified of the restaurant's issues. If you go here, expect long wait times as the workers don't take their job seriously and like to play around with each other instead of helping you. In my opinion, it's not worth it...
Read moreWe went to get shakes at this location. They came out quick and our carhop was polite, he told us the wrong flavors when handing them out but that can be overlooked. Upon tasting our shakes they tasted watery. I don't mean they were melted, I mean it tasted like literal water, not even sweet. I work with a shake machine at my job and I'm assuming the machine wasn't fully drained of water when it was last cleaned. Once again, no big deal. I was expecting to contact them via the button, explain the situation and get it fixed but no. I pressed the red button and waited. 5 to 10 minutes passed in silence, almost as if they were hoping I'd give up and leave. After a good wait they eventually got to me, I told them my issue and I was told someone would be right out to me. They were a little busy so I didn't mind waiting. 15 minutes pass and their rush passed. Eventually our car hop goes to a car right next to mine and I'm like, "great he should be coming by ours next." Nope, as soon as he's done with that car he makes a bee line back to the kitchen not even glancing in our direction. By this time I'm upset. I get out and go to the kitchen and knock. I'm greeted by a different car hop and once again tell her my issue. Finally I get a manager. The female manager tells me the machine is overworked and overheating causing the issue. Once again, I work with a shake machine. Her excuse is unlikely. Yeah the shakes might come melted but it wouldn't make them taste like water. I let that go. I wanted a refund so I could go elsewhere but didn't want to wait 3-5 business days so I settle for slushes which BTW are cheaper than the shakes. Read moreI love Sonic and moved to Kilgore last month. I don't typically leave a review regarding service unless it is a manager, but this Sonic in particular has the worst service ever. Consistently, it takes 10+ minutes to get a drink or two. Today, I got a drink and they left a full 1-2 inches of empty air on the top. Sometimes, my drinks are entirely wrong. Two weeks ago, I put in my order (I always put it in on the app). I had to tell them using the button because the app glitched and put in two of the same order for me. I told them I am here and it doubled and I would take both. They said okay. I waited 25 minutes; the place wasn't even that busy. I hit the button again and told them again. They said it would be right out in a minute. I waited 15 more minutes. At that point, I was over it. I pulled around into the drive thru and waited 10 full minutes for the one person in front of me. There were 2 car hops and 3 people in the kitchen I could see. When I told the person at the window what happened (and he seemed to be a manager or something), he said, "ok."
