It is almost like a quick trip around the world. No, just kidding, but it is very interesting to take the time to look around the whole place. You will see flags from everywhere and that means you are in the area related to that flag's country. Of couse, the amount of stuff available is connected to the amount of people from that country living in St Louis. There are over 30k Indians in St Louis, so there's an entire aisle dedicated to sell indian food. You can find every rice you can and cannot imagine in this area and it is very cool. On the other hand, there is no more than 3k Brazilians, so their area is basically 2 bays in between the South American countries with very limited stuff. They have a full area, by the entrance, dedicated to chocolates and treats. It is incredible. They even have orange Kit Kat from Japan. The coffee area is also very nice, it's located by the produce. I would expect a better liquor aisle from a place like this, but it's fine. The business itself is not very well managed, it has a lot of room for improvement. It looks confusing and not well organized. They for sure need renovations. A better marketing staff, up to get to know and interact with the international community would be valuable too. A suggestion box would be...
Read moreWe absolutely loved Global Foods and would spend at least half a day browsing the aisles and getting the different foods and produce. Our last visit was yesterday, and we were extremely disappointed in the selection in the produce aisle. Some of the produce looked like they had sat around for some time, and the selection wasn't what we had come to expect from Global. While I understand it's out of season for some, the produce from warmer climates should have been available. They do have a book where you can look up some of the items, but it didn't include everything, and nobody was around to ask for help. We were looking forward to going there and looking at everything, but this time we spent maybe 30 minutes. When we went to check out, the cashier didn't even greet us or thank us for coming. He seemed tired and bored. I watched him check one person out, and as she was gathering her bags, she forgot to get her receipt. The cashier didn't call out to her... he waved the receipt at the lady, even though her back was turned to him. We'll be looking for another international foods store to go to unless Global makes...
Read moreAwesome and unique products. This is located about 20 minutes from my house so we maybe come here once every 6 months approximately. And when we do, we always shop for around 2 hours and load up on many Russian Goods, spending 200 plus dollars on everything. There is a lot of stuff that you can't find anywhere else. We found some awesome German chocolate, some sausage that we could taste test, and ingredients for a Russian cake that I haven't had in years. The staff is always really friendly and we were checked out very quickly. The parking lot is kind of small which can make it hard to find a parking spot on busy days, but we had no problem finding a spot when we went. This location is on Lindbergh, which is a one way Road. To exit easier, try to exit with the intersection near the southern part of the parking lot. When visiting try to go to the deli and taste test those delicious free samples! Make sure you have a few hours to explore the store because it has a lot of variety of products throughout. Also, check out the liquor section because it has some very interesting...
