I have been going here to have my hair done by Jenny almost exclusively for nearly a decade, even when living in other cities, that's how much I love going here. It's always a clean, welcoming and friendly environment, they offer complimentary beverages (non-alcoholic 😉), and have convenient booking online or right within the Google Maps app.
The way they run this place (and maybe all Hair Saloon locations idk, but I've only ever been to this one) makes it feel like the last great small town barber shop in America, even though this location is far from the only Hair Saloon and it's in a suburb of St. Louis, certainly not a small town. But that's how I've always felt going here for 9 years. Not to mention they are highly efficient yet they don't rush people out when they're done or turn you away because you maybe were a couple minutes late. It's the kind of place where you'll find people bumping into other parents from their kids' nearby school or old high school classmates reuniting briefly for the first time in years; truly a neighborhood establishment that feels very much plugged into its local community.
I could see how some might find their prices a little high, but trust me if you love a good hair cut and value exceptional service - and really who doesn't? - then like me you too will be making this place your go-to for...

It’s currently $35 for a haircut with shampoo and scalp massage, which is reasonable. They allow booking online which is a big plus. You get a complimentary beverage when you arrive: coffee, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, water, and beer available in the afternoon.
Two reasons why it’s not 5 stars:
Overall though, it was good and...
Read moreI’ve been a customer for nearly 20 years. That said, I highly doubt your stylists all received a 20% increase in base pay to justify your recent price increases. So unfortunately it’s time for me to explore my options.
UPDATE (in response to owner’s reply): Knowing you just raised prices a few years ago, and you’re now suggested that this increase is “to keep up with what’s going on around us”, Economics 101 defines this as a justification of “opportunity” rather than “need”. But since you mentioned wage increases as a contributing factor, I could more easily accept these increases if I knew that ALL of your stylists have enjoyed a $1-$2/hr increase to their base-pay over the past year. P.S. I did not call you because you did not provide...
