0ct 16 2024 4:30 - 5:15 am Positively shameful. First, we stopped for a bathroom break - instead we got to witness a nasty, hate filled female cleaner (with a limp) harassing a senior citizen as she was entering the handicapped bathroom. She was telling the woman she was not handicapped because she could walk. The older woman absolutely should NOT have had to explain that she has a heart condition & can get dizzy when she goes to stand up. The cleaner continued to make nasty remarks as the woman ignored her & used the bathroom with the safety bars. Second, we were parked at the back entrance to the rest stop. As we were preparing to leave by the exit to Kittery south 95 - a red pickup truck came speeding in. It was driving (speeding) on the wrong side of the road with its blinding high beams on. If we had pulled out of our space 10 seconds earlier - we would have been in a full head on collision. We watched the red pickup truck fly past us at 4:58 am. To utter shock it flew into the private employee parking lot. The driver got out & tried to stare us down as he realized we had witnessed his "entrance". Before we left - we spoke to some other witnesses & were told these two people are well known for their behaviors. We listened to examples of other disturbing behaviors by these two. The thing about this is people do what they know they can get away with. So shame on Maine for tolerating them. Because what you tolerate - you teach. Today should the last day of work for both of...

I decided to play the lotto machine and placed $25 cash inside. It was not working, so I went to the front desk to ask for assistance. The first words that came out of his mouth was "you gotta put cash in, nothing comes for free" (in a loud belittling "I'm better than you" manner).
I advised him I put $25 cash inside already and didn't appreciate his language. He then proceeded to see the lotto machine and and then advised me that the machine was off/non active, hence it's not working (as if customers are suppose to know machine is not working, mind you, the LED screen was still functioning). I advised him perhaps putting a sign that states "lotto machine is off" would have helped.
At this point, the lazy "I'm better than you" employee goes back to the front desk to grab a remote control to click turn the lotto machine on. He then tells me I have a few seconds to choose which game ticket I want to play.
Instead of apologizing from using inappropriate language, he simply walked away from us.
I know management will reply to this comment and pretend they care because its Public Relation damage control, but in fact, I know this particular employee has free will to do as he please and nothing...
Read moreThe wife and I have been stopping here on our way home for years .Today was the last time. Some employee was smoking something in the handicapped bathroom and was rude about it to a person waiting to use it. And the past few months the men's room has been so filthy. Crap all over the toilets, urine on the floors, no toilet paper . And when you go there the next day it looks the same. And my wife says the ladies room is the same . No toilet paper and the bins in the stalls for sanitary napkins are full , toilet paper all over the floors . We sat on a bench outside and looked around and trash was over flowing and just not as nice as it use to be.. So disappointed how downhill it's gone. Only thing good is the center inside. Still the same nice smiling faces . But for now on her and I will be meeting further up to the next rest area . No thank you . The trails are not maintained at all and is just a bunch of trip hazards and is not the same. Maybe next year we will try again. We liked to stop there because we both have long commutes to work and meet there on the way home to refresh and it's just not the same..Maybe look and see . And as for the smoking employee it wasn't cigarettes that was he was smoking. We have already picked a new place to meet up. Maybe let the DOT know...
