My husband and I were married here in 2018. We decided not to write a review because we don’t like shedding negative light on people but every time we reminisce about our wedding day we are reminded of these negative details. We chose this place because of the pool access and overnight amenities in addition to the stunning property. We booked a year and a half before our wedding date giving us plenty of time to plan. About six months before our wedding we were informed the owner was selling to the people who own The Curb (a local restaurant off meridian road). We were put in contact with the new owners and were asked to review our contract because the new owners were not going to offer the over night stay any more. They offered buying us a hotel room 10 miles down the road but we were really set on spending the night there and not interested in getting into a cab the night of our wedding. They asked us to reconsider the caterer we had booked over a year ago and use The Curb which we declined. They also asked us to pay an additional amount to have someone onsite the day of to coordinate (even though the original agreement with the previous owner included that). During the reception the owner himself showed up. He approached my husband, who was away from the crowd smoking a celebratory cigar, and told him “no smoking” and asked him to put his cigar out. Then, a couple hours later, I saw him standing by the hot tub right in the middle of the party smoking a cigar! I also saw him help himself to a large plate of our food. The owners son made an appearance and approached me during the reception asking "where's my dad". My husband and I both saw him wander through the crowd asking our guests if they had seen his dad. Neither of us had ever met him and we’re not sure why he was there interrupting the party. The owner then picked me out of the crowd asking "who was in charge" and "you need to get these people out of the pool". Without giving me time to respond he rushed over to the pool and ushered everyone out (even though we signed a waiver to use the pool). As the party died down, from about 10pm-midnight, the owner Informed us we needed to have all of our food and beverages out of the fridge by midnight (we were planning on eating after the party because neither of us really got to eat). He then awkwardly hung out "supervising" us and our small group of about 10 people who were hanging out after the party. He retired into a room on sight around midnight and gave us a curfew for when we needed to be in our room as well. I feel like because we had already paid for the venue in full to the previous owner the new owners made every attempt to try and make an extra buck off of us and when we declined their advances they made it difficult for us. The venue is dreamy. It truly is a beautiful piece of property. Just be aware of these issues when...
Read moreThis place is beautiful and has the potential to be fabulous in so many ways however the whole entire experience from start to finish was far under par and considering …very over priced. Wedding cost nearly $8000 this is a substantial amount to pay for a venue and with that you’d imagine substantial accommodations exclusive. However the rehearsal time was rushed and not able to fully be ran through because she was watering dead flowers, the rooms for dressing were small and not suitable for one let alone many females to get hair and makeup done by the professional paid in addition to. There was no place to have a real station for this to take great effect, the restrooms were not accessible during the wedding or reception as the ability to flush was not in working order…, there was no running water throughout we were told it quit at the start of the reception, there was no ice, the drinks that were to be complimentary were not available for more than 30 mins and during that time they were warm, the pool slide was out of working order and had to be slid on dry, there is no stairs or proper/actual entry to the slide , the umbrellas on the table were not able to be tilted to properly shade because they were broken, there was no shade in pool bar area, there was no shade or mist at wedding area, in the food area the tables were not set up so everyone could watch the toast or dancers and in the middle of eating guests were asked to stand up so their dinner table could be relocated, the wedding party table was not decorated, the decorations throughout were lacking, music was uneventful slow and quiet annnnd…at another End of the venue opposite where people would likely and did gather, the dances were not done when they were supposed to be, the juice and water stations are limited from promised, they were ice less and warm, the owner or main coordinator namely… Jan seemed annoyed with every one who spoke with her, she was so annoyed with all the asking of where to use the restroom or what to do in the event one needed to utilize such that she started telling people to just use the broken toilets…with that, they eventually stunk and were full of “stuff” if you will, she was rude about the pool area prior to life guard duty showing over an hour after ceremony commencing when the signage clearly stated swimming permitted for 18 or older and younger with adult supervision until life guards on duty she sat with her arms folded baiting a reason to snap, she was hurried And rushed or apparently over worked otherwise And the other staff was basically the same way creating an uncomfortable approach to remedy rising issues not to mention they expressed being very understaffed (obviously) and begged some of our attendees to apply even ones not of working age urging them to just do it anyways. It was not pleasant whatsoever...
Read moreSandstone Vineyards will always hold a special place in my heart—it was one of the very first venues I ever filmed at, over 150 wedding films ago! Even back then, the beauty of the grounds and the kindness of the staff stood out to me. Over the years, it’s been incredible to see them grow and continually improve, offering more and more to couples and their guests.
The venue itself is a dream to work at. Set on five acres with views of the Boise front, Sandstone offers a mix of elegance and rustic charm that’s perfect for capturing stunning wedding films. From the koi ponds and fountains to the beautifully manicured gardens and walking paths, every corner feels like it was designed for magical moments. And let’s not forget one of their most unique features—a pool! It always adds a fun and unexpected twist to the day, making for some unforgettable shots.
The team at Sandstone has always been so welcoming and genuinely invested in making each event special. Their dedication to privacy, personal service, and constant innovation keeps this venue at the top of my list. I love working here and can’t wait for the next opportunity to capture another couple’s love story at this...
